hard brexit might be easier at this point because the uncertainty of this open ended bullshit might be more damaging and you guys are BLEEDING business right now

demonrail666 03.13.2019 03:14 AM

I see no point in extending the negotiations. I'd say it's now a choice between leaving without a deal or not leaving at all. May's dream of finding a third way that would satisfy everyone and re-unite the country is dead. We could argue all day that it always was, or that she might've achieved it had she negotiated differently, but we are where we are and I think now it's either completely out or completely in.

!@#$%! 03.13.2019 12:39 PM

looks like they’re gonna pass a symbolic “no no-deal” resolution today which accomplishes exactly nothing

It's taken the 'no-deal' option off the table. So Brexit is pretty much dead in the water now, at least in any meaningful sense.

well not really.

it’s just a statement of wishes without any legal force

if you don’t agree on a deal with europa before the deadline, and/or don’t get an extension, you still get no-deal brexit

takes unanimous agreement to give you the extension.

h8kurdt 03.14.2019 11:45 AM

Trump digging into Theresa saying 'I'm surprised at how badly it has all gone from a stand point of negotiations but I gave the Prime Minister (Theresa May) my ideas of how to negotiate it, she didn't listen to that and that's fine but it could have been negotiated in a different manner.'

This is coming from a guy who so far shown he wouldn't be able to negotiate his shoe laces. Also of course, he wants a no deal to go through so he's loving this ATM.

You're ignoring the fact that if a no deal did go through now the political fallout from it would be massive. Whilst not legally binding the consequences are huge.

im not ignoring

yesterday’s vote is just a wish

there is no actual proposal

if your country can’t agree to support may’s deal you’re just gonna be left holding your dicks with no deal at all

1. europe is not going to change their concessions
2. extending beyond the election is not gonna happen

the uk cant get their shit together on what it wants, what is the extension for?

!@#$%! 03.14.2019 01:22 PM

so, no 2nd referendum

options narrow

and now they ask for delay FO SHO

ball in europa’s court

Of course he would. Britain, or England I should say, always wanted to be the US's submissive bitch, with a foot in both geographical/cultural worlds. And the benefits that brings. Now it's time to take sides. No deal would make sense of all this nonsense. Everyone is fucking tired of this going on forever. Brexit is never going to bring socialism or impartial, community-based policies to the UK, no matter how interesting demonrail's article links may read like. What's the point to carry on with this? A clean break is just that because you ought to realise what it is you actually want, and right now England, or its government, I should say, is confused about everything.
