School athletics day today.

Antagon 03.13.2019 12:56 PM

I just came out of the weirdest auditorium I've ever been to. Usually they consist of a plateau of rows that gradually ascends or descends (depending on how you look at it) that is accessible through a set of stairs on each corner. This one however consisted of two separate plateaus adjacently stacked on top of each other. Unbeknownst to me I apparently entered the upper floor of the room and found myself at the furthest point away from the lecturer.

The stairs just stopped at the third row, the desk-space measured the entire width of the room and there was a huge fucking chasm the height of a whole floor or two. And to access the lower floor I would have had to enter a completely different tract of the building. So if things are being handed out either secure a seat down there or hone your Parcours skills. The upper floor could only be entered through a quite imposing large wooden door, which was quite remarkable from an architectural standpoint. The lower floor however featured two sliding doors reminiscent of a hospital or a medical facility.

Enormous, beautifully arched windows to the left and righthand corner, but topping out at my shoulder height (sitting down that is) and the tip being obstructed by railings, some kind of block and some sort of rollup industrial drape. The interior design was some weird mix of modernist pragmatism, worn green wallpapers, funkily patterned floor tiles and incredibly spotty barren walls. I know I shouldn't be fascinated by this as much as I am, but what the fuck was up with that room. It's the type of architectural insanity I usually only dream about :D

Overheard in my Physics class: "What's the name of the chicken from Chicken Little?"

Derek 03.13.2019 06:12 PM

Mark?

choc e-Claire 03.13.2019 06:17 PM

Finished my Physics assignment :)

Yesterday at the school athletics day, I noticed there was this cute emo girl that I hadn't seen before.

Then I realised that a possible reason I hadn't seen her before is because she could be a Year 9 or something, which would make her 14.

Oh god...

Derek 03.13.2019 07:44 PM

14 year olds are still being emo? Be original new generation.

Haha!

Really, emo should have died when the Mexicans rioted against it.

My friend's Squat of the Day project has been forced into a hiatus thanks to the school. :fuckyou:

We're doing geometry in the plane and proofs in Specialist Maths atm

So I'm filling a notebook with shittily-drawn triangles.

choc e-Claire 03.14.2019 08:02 PM

(Should I make my own thread to rant about bullshit and avoid clogging up these ones?)

Managed to break through the language barrier to explain the Australian soccer league's playoff system to the French exchange student.

h8kurdt 03.15.2019 04:53 AM

So I've decided to cut out chocolate from my life. I eat way too much of it to the point where I was just eating it for the sake of eating it. That's about four bars a day. It's not benefitting me in any way eating as much as I was. It's also a small miracle my teeth are still in decent shape. However, the main reason for it is because of climbing. I'm getting to the point where I'm really serious about it now and doing something like cutting out chocolate will help give even the smallest of improvements. After that I've gotta get rid of eating sandwiches for lunch. The annoying thing is that when I was working in the warehouse I was so strict with my eating it depressed other people to see but I never had a problem. Since going back to decorating it's kinda fallen by the wayside. That's not to say I'm overweight or anything, I'm just not at the peak I should be. I'm in the 30s now and eating whatever I want willy nilly isn't do-able anymore.

They say it takes 21 days to break a habit. Gonna be a long 21 days. Maybe I should take up smoking to help.

well chocolare has 3 main parts: cocoa (drug1) cocoa butter (tasty fat) and sugar (drug2)

cocoa is processed cacao and can be high in histamine (thanks slavo, i am learning so much lol).

cocoa butter is the tasty fat part. you can rub it on your skin or whatever. cocoa butter without
cocoa is what goes to make white chocolate.

sugar is the cocaine of foods and it’s linked to depression but it goes beyond chocolate.
t
there are also things in chocolate like lecithin, vanilla/vanillin and other flavors, etc

additionally milk chocolate will have milk solids, etc.

cacao nibs are a bit like coffee grains, the unprocessed cacao beans right off the tree. they’re sharp tasting but rich in polyphenols and other good stuff. maybe they can be the nicotine patch/inhaler for withdrawal if you get to that point. [eta cacao nibs actually fermented, so likely high histamine just like cocoa, if histamine is a concern]

but anyway whatever you do best wishes dude. a little fasting goes a long way. plus it’s lent anyway ha haha. yeah... go for it man

Derek 03.15.2019 08:46 AM

I'm gonna eat the biggest chocolate bar ever when I get home god damn.

Painting it purple, plan on throwing up plants, Detroit Red Wings merch, and my NEW BEAST OF A PC in here soon. Even though I have both windows on, I feel light headed from the fumes

Actually buying a dope monitor off of noisereductions oddly enough. Purple inspires me

I used to be in a band and played there a few years ago. I actually liked that place a lot. Do you know a guy named Victor Peraino? He played and it was absurd

I get to make a small magazine for my Media SAC this year.

Watch as I end up getting distracted by looking at cute shoegazers for hours. (Yeah, I'm making a magazine for that genre. Deal with it.)

choc e-Claire 03.19.2019 09:32 PM

Reading old xkcd What If? things, and there's one about a moon swimming pool.

TL;DR it would be the most fun thing ever created by humanity.

An addendum to my generously worded tangent: Managed to enter through the lower entrance today. The lecturer seemed thankful that many of us "made it down here". The lower floor is hardly an improvement though, as the podium and the screen are on a platform as well, the lower floor aisles aren't though. So in order to read the slides, one has to constantly look up. It's like having one of the front rows in a theater hall, only a bit worse, since the screen is in quite an elevated position. Little correction there: No sliding doors downstairs, though they seemed like they were from a distance. Just generic, glass doors with a certain clinical look to them. Insane interior architecture nonetheless.

I have some pics from my shitty cellphone camera. They don't quite show the whole madness, but provide a bit of a preview. The floor doesn't look quite as funky with this low resolution and I didn't take a snap of the green wallpaper behind me. But the chasm and the balcony-esque flair are quite apparent and so are the weirdly placed (or rather the weirdly designed room) and partly obstructed windows. I quickly took a few shots and made sure to avoid having recognizeable people in them. Also, I realized today that the rows downstairs are just on one flat plane. Last time I thought there'd be a descending plateau of rows downstairs as well due to my obstructed view. Why would you have descending rows upstairs but not downstairs, especially if the slides are being displayed on a very elevated screen? It almost seems like that room once looked way different and they couldn't be bothered to make up their minds about what to do with it after some renovation.

Without further ado: The first two display the upper floor. The third one the rear end of the lower floor.

Remember the order of operations: Multiplication before addition and subtraction. But always respiration before, during and after all of that shit. Even if that sounds divisive.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Antagon again.

IDK, I think it's probably just autism showing itself again. I do a lot of weird shit.
