i think that's a good album. the first two green day albums are good and dookie is pretty good. the rest just suck balls.

All of the red ones are wrong wrong wrong. Damned Damned Damned was much better than Machine Gun Etiquette and let's not forget that New Rose was the first UK punk single.

yeah they were really young. that's around the time when they had aaron cometbus as their roadie. man they were a good band then. they should have quit after kerplunk and named the band something else. i can never bring up green day nowadays without getting a laugh.

I know this is from five months ago, but anyway - their first album was very much of a certain style, and I can understand someone not liking it, it's not my favourite Saints album. The second one Eternally Yours is my favourite, it has them using a brass section and acoustic guitars, the third one Prehistoric Sounds is completely different to Stranded, the jazzy horn section was the lead instrument, rather than a distorted electric guitar. So, the following two albums are well worth checking out.

I wouldn't try to debunk its status as an important punk record, but I find a good half of Damned Damned Damned to be really boring. Machine Gun Etiquette is perfect throughout. I'd even say The Black Album and maybe Strawberries is better too.
