Seriously.

It was a fun Star Wars movie. Probably the second or third best one. Actually definitely the second best one.

Nothing controversial to me.

Alt-righters hating on the feminist agenda?

Some certain fans of Star Wars treat it like its a religion, and doing anything different than what George Lucas wants is equivalent to ripping pages out of the bible. And yes, like a lot of things there is a vocal percentage of dude fans who complain about anything female. People complaining about Leia floating in space, they need every female to go through some rigorous training process to prove they were taught how to do something. Anyways, I enjoyed The Last Jedi as a fan of movies, more than as a fanatical Star Wars fan. There is no reason to take movies like this so seriously, even if a Star Wars movie is not amazing, and its just good.

I thought the latest star wars was fucking awesome. as thrilling as the first 2

Also watched about 4/5 of this before we had to go to bed. Attack the Block. I found it very funny and inventive in what it was doing.

Leia floating in space was weird.
Suddenly she has the Force?
Suddenly a massive explosion and ten minutes in deep space is not enough to kill someone? And why not just kill her? The character dying is REQUIRED. Rip Carrie Fischer. :(

The floating was bizarro.

But I don’t hold it against the movie, which was good and visually awesome.

YES!

Leto not sucking might be he most amazing thing about that movie.

I love all of you right now.

Blade Runner 2049.

THE WORLD WAS NOT READY.

And yeah that evil replicant soldier chick. Terrifying in a classic Terminator kind of way. Only better than anything James Cameron ever did.

BR2049 > all.

I liked it but didn't love it. I thought the pacing was really weird. That casino planet? And yeah my thoughts exactly... The character has to die right? It would have made sense then. Again I liked it but not the way I loved Force Awakens.

finally wrangled wife into watching this. pretty fucking cool, although it is a different beast entirely from the novel. After watching Blade Runner 2049, the visuals of this were a bit underwhelming, but that may just eb in comparison.

Casino planet seeemed fine. Very Star Wars to have a side mission like that with a double cross. And I liked the jump from a fantasy vibe to a more modern looking setting. It was aesthetically interesting.

Mark Hamill can’t act.

Loved the scenes with Rey and Kylo.
That’s the heart of the story.

I think honestly thag Force Awakens + Last Jedi > Star Wars + Empire. Blasphemy I know, but they’re more interesting and more evolved and just plain better storytelling. Faults and all.

Rogue One I can mostly take or leave.

noisereductions 04.11.2018 08:18 PM

The Rey/Kylo vs all fight was amazing.

I like Rogue One for what it was. It was solid.

Sure. Fine military sci-fi space opera stuff. Nothing wrong with it at all. But it just didn’t do the Star Wars things to mah brain. It’s fine. Good. Yes. But doesn’t give me the feels of peak Star Wars.

I think there may still be some surprises ahead with respect to Luke. After all, “Nobody ever really does.” (Apparently Luke is a NERD fan.)

Rob Instigator 04.13.2018 08:48 AM

Hammill has stated he will no longer appear in the films, now that Carrie Fisher is passed. he says he is not into it. Solo is dead. Luke is dead.
