A shocking lapse of judgement. I don't respect my taste in film, never mind anyone else.

Started Stripes last night and finished tonight. It's one that escapes me, for why it's funny. Likely just not my humor style.

It’s an early Bill Murray thing. His humor. I grew up with the Ghostbusters movies, so I had brainspace for that kind of sort of witless slacker humor early on, and I find Stripes pretty freaking hilarious.

But yeah, not for everyone these days maybe.

DISOBEDIENCE (Sebastián Lelio, 2017)

rachel weisz and rachel mcadam play 2 jewish orthodox women in england who...

(yes yes that is a wig)

religion is bananas! but this movie is not that simple....

pretty great story actually.

beautifully shot. great performances. too much music for my taste but kids these days like that sort of thing lol. but music aside, surprisingly good.

also ended up googling a ton and learning a bunch of anthropological facts, like wtf is a sheitel. or a hesped.

may you live a long life (hopefully not a miserable one).

Acquired an anthology of the Halloween movies and am starting my way through them, up to the first Rob Zombie remake, if I recall right.

Horror, y'all!

yeah im slowly moving towards death season, starting with failed romances and light tragedies towards eventually pure atrocious carnage.

That first Rob Zombie Halloween is pretty goddamn brilliant, as I’ve said year after year here, I’m sure.

Second one, not so much.

I hear the *new* one... with Jame Lee Curtis (again) is maybe better than all those other pre-Zombie Jamie Lee Curtis fuckfests, but I’m not confident.
Was reminded on twitter yesterday that in 2002 I paid money to “see Busta Rhymes try to fight Michael Meyers using kung-fu” in Halloween: Resurrecrion. Which is of course hilarious.

The Zombie movie moved into another sphere, and produced a seriously tense, genuinely fun horror film that stood on its own.
Wish there could be more of that in these re-make/retreads/fuck-fest horror movie franchise resuscitators.

Give us a shout when you're there. I'm sure I can come up with something.

The original Halloween II is really underrated I think.

I just had to watch part of it (Sharknando 5) to see how bad it was. Came in at about 3/4 and just had to watch it from the start. It's so insanely stupid that I just had to watch it from the beginning to see of any part of the movie made any sense at all. And it really doesn't :D I gave up halfway in or so and watched the leftover of Kill Bill
