There's not a single likable character in this film.
It takes a long time establishing itself but WOW - it's totally amazing.

Amanda Bynes is hot. I talk to a dude on another board who goes to the same dentist as her... I figure... Dental check ups are suggested once every six months or so, right? And providing you have no problems should only take about 15 minutes at the most to do. Assuming this dentist works 9am - 5pm everyday except weekends, with an hour off for lunch. That's approximately 28 15min sessions a day. That being 140 sessions in a week. Let's say he works 40 weeks of the year (this takes into account public holidays too). That's 5600 sessions in a year. 2800 every half year... So s that's a 1 in 2800 chance his dentist check up would land on any given day of a 6 month period. Because Amanda couldn't be seeing the same dentist at the same time she'd have to be the session immediately before or after his for them to cross paths. So a 2 in 2800 chance (or 1 in 1400 if you prefer). As those probabilities are independant of each other we mulitply them together. Meaning there is roughly a 1 in 3,920,000 chance that he would run into Amanda Bynes at his dentist in a 6 month period. That's providing they both get regular half yearly check ups.

Great film.

It's a powerful film. It should be seen. It's definitely a staple of Exploitation Cinema. Like Last House On The Left. But I watch Last House more often.

My favorite thing about I Spit On Your Grave: no musical score! It's creepy.

The Rape was intense.. It wasn't like ok lets get this over with.. it was pretty harsh and long
I kept on finding myself saying "god dammit" the whole time I watched it... and then I'd kind of chuckle, then I felt like a shit head.
I'm kind of worried that my pursuit of over the top offensive shit fests can never be out done by this one.

Hell I'm kind of surprised it was ever released in any form..

Why? I mean, it's tough to watch, but it's not... I don't know. There's worse porn out there. Y'know? Like actual intercourse with girls being beaten (for real) or choked (for real). I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, though certainly unflinching was meant to be a revenge flick, much like Meir Zurichi's (spelling?) follow-up DON'T MESS WITH MY SISTER or the above-referenced LAST HOUSE. In fact, the original title of I SPIT was DAY OF THE WOMAN, which should give you an indication that although it contains some sickening displays (uh, like I said, Exploitation Cinema) it's Meant to be sicking, to make you feel as gross as you did, and then feel the empowerment of Camille's character when she slices off dicks, etc and exacts her revenge (ie: Kills Bill).

Yeah, it's not bad or all that brutal really, especially compared to stuff like Hole In My Heart and The Burning Moon and the Heart is Deceitful Above All Things and even the first 20 minutes or so of Irreversible and a lot of other things.. like noisereductions said, it's just an exploitation film, though it does seem a bit less jokey than most... Hell, Thriller: A Cruel Picture is tougher to watch, because the sex in it IS real (since it shows real penetration and real cumming!).

On the subject of rape, I always thought one of the more disturbing films ever was the Entity, where a chick gets raped repeatedly by some kind of invisible creature. That one IS tought to watch, intentionally made that way, and it's a true story supposedly.

That reminds me, too, of the invisible rape scene in Hollow Man. I remember thinking Hollow Man was a fairly comical, fun little film and then in the middle of it AN INVISIBLE RAPE SCENE. That actually has to be the most disturbing scene in a mainstream film; just the IDEA of it. And that film won awards! (for special effects, though) Insane.

Oh my God, The Entity is awesome. And scary!
