I love Sonic Youth and all of that stuff, and Thurston is supercool, but I have never ever understood the point of buying a coat without a hood. I will go to the grave railing against coats without hoods.

I think the following are too cool, even though, my whole life, I've never once found a perfect fit in the following:

1. Sport coat
2. Henley

A sport coat feels either too short or too long, yet I have three that I wear a lot because I think they're cool.

A henley feels either too tight or too loose, yet I have a couple new ones that I wear a lot because I think they're cool.

Ha ha! I rail against coats WITH hoods. Talk about dorksville. Come on, man. That's what hats and caps are for.

The hood is the whole point. What's the point of a coat that doesn't protect your head from the wind and rain?
