Hmm..................
Sorry, can't think of anything.
I liked Old School. I liked Anchorman. I liked Stranger Than Fiction. I liked him in Winter Crossing. But more than films, I thought he was great on SNL.
Old School is tolerable, but I thougth he was the worst part. Hated Anchorman with every inch of my being. Never saw Stranger than Fiction, though I dunno if I could take him seriously anyway.
Him and Ben Stiller and Jack Black are the worst 3 "comedians" in the history of films. |
I disagree. I think all 3 are neither the best nor the worst.
Oh, and Elf. I like Elf a lot, too.
Hah. They're at the bottom of the barrel at least.
Are they comedic geniuses? Not really. Are they funnier than Carrot Top? Friggin' A.
I will agree on the suckitude of will ferrell (mainly because he sticks too much to his bumbling child-man persona) and of the insanely terrible comedic stylings of Ben Stiller.
I only like him when he is playing straight, like in tannenbaums, and in mystery men. |
Jack Black is a live performer, and that is where he shines. on film, he is asked to play his "persona" and it tends to suck.
I liked him in high fidelity and in school of rock, because they let him play a character more. |
Jack Black was great in High Fidelity. And yeah, Stiller was excellent in Tanenbaums.

deliverance
very very good |
By the way, the WORST comedians are those blue collar tour people. Larry the Cableguy and all that shit. Horrendous.
This was totally cool.
Follow Basquiat around as he picks up a model, gets kicked out of his apartment and sees performances by the Lounge Lizards, the Plastics, DNA, James White and the Blacks and Kid Creole and the Coconuts. It's a little slow but it's worth the many payoffs. I'd never listened to the Plastics before - I'll pick something up from them now. |

Jack Black isn't funny but he's a likable character at least. |
That's how I feel too.
Mister Lonely. |
^ I wanna see that.
You definitely should. It's nowhere near my personal favorite from Korine, but some of it's imagery is simply outstanding.
Stroszek. |
wall-e. hahha.
Anchorman.. it has its hilarious moments... but like most apatow movies it drags.

john ford is brilliant has anybody seen a fistfull of dynomite (duck you sucker)? is it good? ive heard not great things about once upon a time in america, but this is supposed to be better i think |
Yeah, I've seen all Leone films. I think duck you sucker is his worst but it's pretty good. Once Upon a Time in America wanders a bit and is too long but it has some brilliant moments.
Once upon a time in the west, of course, is one of my all time favorite films......... barton fink - 7/10 |
hey mang ghost in the shell SAC was renewed on netflix so it didnt expire. im watching right now-- pretty good.
Jerry Macguire.
I really like this movie, but I hate Tom Cruise as the lead. |
fuck yeah!
i'll Show You The Life Of The Mind!!
I saw this at some ungodly hour this morning - a good way to start New Year's Day. |
I'm not sure what I thought. I mean, its premise was ridiculous lying propaganda, but the actual movie was too well-done to be very funny. It was just an old movie that happened to be full of shit. Whatever. 4/10 I guess. |
^The recent movie-musical based on that is hilarious
faster
