Funeral Parade of Roses
1969 Toshio Matsumoto movie - the guy mostly directed short movies. Visually brilliant, fluent even though it picks here and there, a real beauty. Those who've seen both A Clockwork Orange and this film will agree on that: Kubrick saw the Japanese movie and helped himself twice (even though the atmosphere differs). A plot kinda pops up during the movie, but it is not that necessary. If you read wikipedia you'll be mislead, as it narrows it down to one tiny element, forgetting atmophere, styles, a great black and white and so many other surprises. |

At nearly three hours, it's a bit long winded. The highlight to me were actually the end credits by Saul Bass. Didn't realize the movie was so star studded until those credits. |

The Skeleton Twins — pretty good
500 Days of Summer — kind of bad, actually Game Night — fun and funny as hell |

Horribly annoying movie. Such great actors, well some of them, but such a boring script and dialogues |

Is that the official poster/cover artwork for the movie? If so, then holy shit is it a suck-fest. Someone needs to do their homework on cropping and compositing. Also: Lighting, while we're at it. Some of those actors look like action figures in that clusterfuck of a composition. And Mel Gibson looks like the Dummy from Goosebumps. Which, come to think of it, probably an apt comparison. An eerie antiquated dummy that was likely initially at home on dingy stages, telling racist jokes. If the shoe fits. |

I've heard that Joseph Gordon-Levitt has said if you idolize his character in 500 Days of Summer, you're absolutely not comprehending the movie correctly, or something like that. |
It's a Boy Girl Thing (2006). Body-switching thing between the high school quarterback and the high-achieving girl next door.
Well I loved it. It's light and fluffy and fun. The girl I particularly liked. I've always wondered what it would be like to be the opposite sex. I guess it'll always remain a mystery to me in this life. Holy Triple Post Batman... |
