It's a Boy Girl Thing (2006). Body-switching thing between the high school quarterback and the high-achieving girl next door.

Well I loved it. It's light and fluffy and fun. The girl I particularly liked.

I've always wondered what it would be like to be the opposite sex. I guess it'll always remain a mystery to me in this life.

Sounds about right, because he sucks in the movie.
But also, the movie isn’t great.
It’s probably the High Fidelity for people slightly younger than I am, though, and people seem to love it. I thought it was kinda meh.

An eerie antiquated dummy that was likely initially at home on dingy stages, telling racist jokes. If the shoe fits.

this here is a highly underrated, top quality rant. 10/10.

Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader. Yes, as bad as it sounds.

The last very good one was Funeral Parade of Roses, 1969 Toshio Matsumoto movie (he mostly shot short movies, I hadn't heard of him before). Really good, blending fluently lots of elements. Visually gorgeous. Don't read the wikipedia page, it'll point to a plot that ain't that important. Plus it shows once you've seen it that Kubrick also appreciated the movie. There are two scenes in A Clockwork Orange that taste a bit like the Parade...
The last very bad was Zombie Lake.

It most definitely wasn't for the quality.

As I said to someone else: "It sank and it stank".

I've been on a http://www.theasylum.cc/ kick this weekend, so I'm going in with really low expectations from everything.

Need the best of the worst, the worst of the worst, and just the awfully bad suggestions to write about at https://upallnightmovies.com/. A new website I'm working on.

Preferably streaming somewhere. I have TubiTV, Netflix, Shudder, and Peacock right now. Hulu is going away soon for some cost cutting, but will be willing to bring it back if it has some good ones.

I watched these two movies on Netflix:

It's OK, if you don't expect too much you'll like it.

even if you expect nothing, you will still be disappointed....

I posted this already, had to delete the post and repost to recover the thread

The Producers

Tonight was French classic film night on Netflix with the following double header:

The complete French title is Une journée bien remplie ou Neuf meurtres insolites dans une même journée par un seul homme dont ce n'est pas le métier

This movie is brilliant!!! Highly recommended, nearly Tarantino style black comedy made in 1973. It's directed and co-written by Jean Louis Trintignant who as an actor starred in hundreds of films but he only directed two, which is a damn shame. This was his directional debut, the other one is not on Netflix unfortunately. Great casting as well, especially the main character by Jacques Dufilho.
There's not much dialogue, so it's easy to follow even if you don't speak French.

Pretty standard cop hunts escaped criminal movie made in 1975, but well-done. And based on true events
Funny that the lady is on the Italian movie poster, not on the French. Her part is minimal anyway.

Lol, if you click that link you end up in Groundhog's Day :D

Here's another movie on Netflix I watched a few days ago

Didn't really like much of it, looked a bit too much of a SciFi channel movie, not sure if it is though

!@#$%! 08.16.2021 11:31 AM

the green fucking knight!

it was very good in the cinematography and atmospherics department

most of it was so dark it reminded me of the vvitch: from midtones to pitch black, bright whites were rare af.

the pace was very slow, which can lull one into a dreaming state. o well.

only real bother was the cgi fox. can't they train a real dog or something lmao. but yeah, it was just an element that didn't match the rest at close range.
