It's actually quite odd to me how beloved the franchise is.

Have you tried TimeSplitters 2? It's made by pretty much the same guys who made Goldeneye and is pretty damn similar. It also has a great roster of wacky characters, fun battle modes, weapons, and a pretty damn well-developed mapmaker.

Halo is overrated...I mean, I'm not playing campaign anytime soon and well playing online by yourself sucks. but I like multiplayer...and lan games are great too.

and as for time splitters 2. it's awesome. a friend of mine picked it up a few months ago and it's fun as hell.

http://retro-sanctuary.com/Top-100-N...es-Page-1.html

I am literally so fucking happy to have every nes game ever made on my playstation. Yeah, yeah, everyone has all those games on emulators, yada yada.. there's just something so fucking cool about playing nes games on a playstation, on my mom's big ass HDTV, surround sound.. playing Shatterhead and Journey to Silius.. this is the happiest I've ever seen, stoned and eating some fentanyl and shit.

Anyway, I just started playing this game

RECCA SUMMER CARNIVAL '92

more info:

If you want to talk about a game that pushed the limits of the NES, here's your fucking game. INSANELY fast shooting action, trippy as hell background effects, awesome awesome AWESOME soundtrak, that honestly sounds like techno/trance done 8-bit.

...this is the best shooter on the system, and one of the best of all time. Fuck!

I play all these retro shmups on a VGA monitor with my arcade stick. It rules.

See those two covers I posted up above for instance? They look phonomenal as little tiny game boxes. Haha.

Anyway, the GCN Shmup library proper is small, but amazing. Sadly 3 of the 5 classics need to be imported. But trust me, they're all worth it.

europe unfortunately got the big ones too.its only japan. bt indeed they are great

noisereductions 09.25.2010 09:15 AM

oh really??? I odn't know why I thought that. But yeah the Japanese ones are so awesome.

shabbray2.0 09.25.2010 03:18 PM

This game is fun as hell (and obscure). It's like Mario BRos. 2 meets Metroid meets Mega Man 2. It's got the wall jumping and stuff flike Ninja Gaiden. Definitely worth a 300kb download!

noisereductions 09.25.2010 07:06 PM

Dr. Mario
Super Mario Bros (All-Stars version)

with my wife.

atsonicpark 09.25.2010 07:21 PM

Just found out Little Sampson goes for $160!
