requiem for a dream is one of the worst films ever.

Also.. something I've noticed... Sonatine gets better every time you watch it.

Just finished watching - The Phantom of Regular Size. It's been years since i watched Tetsuo.

atsonicpark 01.19.2009 12:18 PM

YES! Phantom of Regular Size rules. I just saw HAZE for the first time recently, so I've seen all of his films now. Electric Rod Boy is cool too.

Rob Instigator 01.19.2009 12:31 PM

Pineapple express

I give it an 8/10. some very funny stoner stuff, dragged a bit, but I liked the relationships bvetrween the various dope dealers.

NWRA 01.19.2009 02:18 PM

Billy Liar.

I've read the book a few times (which I think deals with similar themes to The Catcher In The Rye but is superior and deserves to be better-known - and I like The Catcher In The Rye) and I didn't know how they could make a film out of it but it's brilliant. The direction is suprisingly inventive, kind of 'British new wave' - if it wasn't for the fashions of the older characters, you would swear that it was made a decade later. All of the performances are spot-on. I never realised Julie Christie used to be so good-looking either. It's got everything, really.

noisereductions 01.19.2009 02:20 PM

I thought Step Brothers was a lot funnier than I expected. Stupid fun. I liked it. Probably won't watch it again ever though. But laughed plenty.

nicfit 01.19.2009 02:43 PM

the strangers = superlame. the director just makes the camera shake a bit to induce fear and uneasiness in the viewer. and some loud noises from time to time. graundbreaking, eh.
captivity = even lamer, even considering bouncing boobs etc etc
step brothers = kinda lame. sometimes it's funny as noiserudctions said, but the quality is almost tv series like at the most.

good days, ahoy.
I'll watch "the host" and "antarctic journal" asap.

noisereductions 01.19.2009 03:10 PM

The Strangers was okay, but like you said, most of the scares came form load noises.

Captivity was terrible. Even with Elisha.

I hated The Host.

atsonicpark 01.19.2009 05:10 PM

The Stranger starts out pretty great. I love how quiet and detached it is. It gets lame as fuck by the end though. Hated Stepbrothers and Pineapple Express. Plenty of interesting and smart people like 'em though so don't listen to me!

HEART OF GLASS - 8/10

Saw this Saturday night (after it being sold out opening) and I'm pretty sure I had the best time that I've ever had in a theater. Definitely one to see in theaters while you still can...especially if you and a few friends bake out your car in the parking lot first.

Rob Instigator 01.19.2009 05:44 PM

Pineapple was no masterpiece, b ut it definitely understood the pothead/dealer/dealer's dealer dynamic!

I introduced my friends to this last night.

viewtiful_alan 01.19.2009 09:45 PM

Friday.

alteredcourse 01.20.2009 04:47 AM

I watched Wanted.
Wow, what a sack of shit movie.
But james mcavoy is strangely sexy.
Maybe thats all they really needed to really say though. So that I go to see whatever sack of shit movie he's in next. So that some other sad fucker sees him and thinks the same thing.

I was actually quite surprised at how astoundingly shitty angelina jolie was. I had this idea that she could act and was attractive. Honestly.

Classic

RdTv 01.20.2009 08:04 AM

Pineapple Express: Everyone I know that saw this movie said it was great, terrific, a classic. So, having heard soo many opinions coming from people with such different tastes, I watched it. Upon completion I wasn't very thrilled, I felt sorta cheated, it had some funny parts, but I suppose the hyping of this flick killed it for me.
Well, a couple of days later I started re-playing parts of it in my head, and I realized I was laughing more then than during the movie.

In essence, I suppose for me it took time to ''get'' what everyone else ''got'' so immediately.

my favorite line is by Red...''yeah bitch you just got killed by a Daewoo Lagos'' or something to that extent. Anyways I find that actor to be hilarious.

he's the best thing in the movie!!!!

Rob Instigator 01.20.2009 10:48 AM

fuck. 3/10.
Just ridiculous. flubs and plot holes galore. Pacino's Bouffant hairpiece is distracting. the whole thing was filmed in "stretch" mode where they make deniro and pacino look a buit taller by stretching the top/bottom aspect ratio. fucking terrible.
what a death for these two fucking has-beens.
