nah this was a good meme 9/11 |
So yeah.. I'm starting to realize that this album wasn't really worth all the hype.

Makes me feel like it's time for Thom to quit Radiohead, actually. Anyone have thoughts on the matter? |

I didn't pay attention to any hype but honestly i love it more and more every time i listen to it. Irs sneaking above In Rainbows and King of Limbs.. Quote:

I do like it better than King of Limbs.. yet I definitely prefer In Rainbows.

ya think? weren't they then and now? good music will last cause smart people/kids will do the research. all this 'dad rock' shit comes from some POP thinking context in the first place. like "what would my peers think if I played this at a party". who cares!!! you didn't then why should you now? |

must spread some rep around before giving it to louder. was going to mention that.;) . I want everyone now to retire from music. I want all entertainment to stop. I want acid paranoia aftermath to engulf me. I hate everyone. I hate you. I hate the past and the future. I hate black holes and history and time. and space. If I could only unzip my shadow and fall into the void. then land on. a. penis. then drinks lots of lager then repeat the nightmare karma never inviting music into my dark soul while posting on SYG forever. I'll be be fine. repeat |

Well... stop that. |
I stand by my earlier opinion. This thread sucks. HARD. It is an embarrassment. It is worthy of a Coldplay forum, not a Sonic Youth forum.

Yeah, ok... this thread is awful. You're right. Still not sure what your specific beef is, but yes... this thread has become an intellectual black hole. |

Are you seriously not seeing "deficiencies" in this thread? I've been here a while. This thread represents a serious degradation in the quality of music criticism/appreciation and qualitative intent on the part of several long time posters. Very sad really. This forum has died. This is my last post at this forum. Love, Skuj. |

Can't argue with that. |

this not the first time you decided we were not showing the proper reverence for a new album release and announced you were quitting the forum in disgust. the reason i am trolling this thread is that syg music is now an absolute joke, apart from louders thread. there is no discussion of anything new and interesting anymore, not even links to most of it. it is the same boring old 90's alt trad crap that we should all be bored of now. |
If you are speaking of the SYG forum as a whole, well how many new members have there been since 2009, the year The Eternal came out? How much new voices, members of this board can we expect of a band that has been at the least inactive, if not flat out broken up?

I agree, and thanks for repping Louder's café. It's true. I understand chatting about the good old days now and then... Pavement or Nirvana or whatever. But I've been talking about that shit decades. I want to hear about newer stuff. I get bored of even the greatest albums and bands after years and years of discussion. But it is the first Radiohead album in five years. Surely it warrants some conversation. And you're not helping matters by dumping shit all over the thread. If you're THAT offended by talking about old music, why are you even showing up? Also, I thought you were going to leave after post #2,000 ... What happened there? |
