learning how to make bread. Yesterday's loaf was very good. I've got the basics down.

Today's recipe, I replaced the water with whole milk (organic, of course). Oven time begins about an hour from now.

GF and I probably will eat no more store-bought bread. If I can get a couple of loaves done over the weekend, we'll have enough for the week.

toroloco, try the no-knead bread recipe, it's a no-brainer. and it's really tasty. 3 ingredients.

i hope you're using king arthur (employee-owned) bread flour, cuz it rules.

for the recipe, google it-- 1st appeared in the NYT and it's been modded since.

Thanks, I'll take a look.

There's something very satisfying about creating this stuff for yourself, you know.

Dood Gast. Mice are sly motherfuckers.

I've seen some crazy shit. Fuckin' placed traps everywhere around a pallet of avocados....and they still go to 'em.

Crossword puzzles, and reading. Any kind of reading. But reading on a regular basis, something in print, not online. Those things will help ward off the oldtimers disease.

Though they say listening to music, really intentionally listening, helps too.

Things that work against all this, of course, are drugs. So you might have to make some life decisions.

what i don't have to forget is to practice how to forget about everthing
before i'm an altzheimer
i wanna be good at
can't wait how it's feel to not be able to remember even your name

Do you play an instrument. They say that also helps.

years ago i seen proof that meditation helps to stop the shrink of the brain
this starts aroun 50-70 depending how you lived your life ofcourse
so the brains start to shrink in volume
people that meditate have a steady brain volume

so if you old people
tell them that meditations helps to keep the brain in volume

+ it cost nothing
ZIP

me
i'm more used to zen
spend a lot of time outdoor in nature and stuff
good enough for me

gmku 02.26.2012 08:27 PM

I'm on the east coast.

There's one thing I will never do for you--I will never go to Utah.
