Elvis was so hot in the 50s.

Too bad he died an old fat man :(

Cantankerous 08.09.2008 01:03 AM

yeah!

Cantankerous 08.09.2008 01:04 AM

um holy shit my horoscope for today is the most accurate thing i have ever read

You are so tired of waiting for someone to come around! No more - you're doing this on your own.

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 01:05 AM

Me and demonrail had a massive PM chat on Tues re Elvis the Pelvis. "That's Alright Mama" = pure PUNK!

Re Horoscopes - me a Gemini, and I did one of those free Horoscope thingies, based on the day I was born. It was scarily accurate in quite a few ways.

I'm a huge fan of Elvis. He was just so HOT in an incredibly conservative era. I'd do him. Well, not now, since he's dead and all. If I were transported back to the 50s or even 60s, I'd do him.

samuel 08.09.2008 01:09 AM

Would you rather do Elvis or Firefox? It's the question of the decade.

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 01:09 AM

^^^Everyone here would do him, I reckon.

this is just a daily horoscope thing and i have mine set to scorpio which is my rising sign but it completely dominates my personality (my sun/"regular" sign is pisces)

i would shag elvis till he couldn't shag no more.

Elvis. But only 50s/early 60s Elvis. I don't want any of that scarf-wearing white jumpsuit-donning poop. I want that weird looking kid that screamed the blues like no other.

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 01:12 AM

Cantanky - When I was at school, and we talked about horoscopes, all I got back from the girls was "Ew, Gemini. You're two-faced, you are!" *grumbles to self for hours*

My Dad's wife and I share the same birthday, and we have quite a lot of character traits in common. Brother Melly and my twin half-brother and half-sister are Geminis too. It's a Gemini hoedown party in my family.

samuel 08.09.2008 01:13 AM

I'm sorry, but I think firefox has pushed the envelope so to speak, more so than Elvis, even considering the conservative era you speak of.

I'd choose cyberbestiality over Elvis. Is it just me?

I'm an Aries - so naturally I'm a neurotic bitch. Yay!

odd things...

my dad and all of his siblings (six including him) are either cancers or capricorns.

i've worked out this theory that this happened because my grandma and grandpa had a mating season once every six months...i've worked out even further that they only ever got it on either on my grandma's birthday in march or their anniversary in september. how i worked all this out i don't know.

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 01:23 AM

Wow, that's interesting. My Dad and Sister Melly also share the same birthday (in October), and character-wise, they're so similar it's scary.

Cantankerous 08.09.2008 01:31 AM

i get on really well with other water signs too, as i should

but strangely i always find myself getting on the best with fire and air signs which is not supposed to be, evidently. air signs particularly.

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 01:33 AM

D'ya know what element sign goes w/Gemini? I can't think which one it is, offhand.

Cantankerous 08.09.2008 01:33 AM

air

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 01:35 AM

Thanks!

krastian 08.09.2008 01:09 PM

Ray is the man.

nicfit 08.09.2008 01:37 PM

Rob, who the hell is sozavac????

krastian 08.09.2008 04:47 PM

"At first I bawled for a month straight. I was so sad. I just went into this weird funk," she recalls. "And I dyed my hair black. When we were dating, Nick wanted me to get highlights -- and so I did that, and I got myself looking great. And then, on the day we broke up, I was, like, I want to make my hair black now -- I don't want to look pretty; I want to look hard-core."

Savage Clone 08.09.2008 04:55 PM

Skipping the 20 year high school reunion tonight.

Aaaah. This is sweet.

EMMAh 08.09.2008 05:15 PM

Your not curious to see what all those high school losers turned out to be?

Savage Clone 08.09.2008 05:18 PM

I think I can rest assured that anyone who would go to a high school reunion is a square.

Ha ha ha, yeah I kind of have to go to my 10th reunion coming up here in 2 years since I'm the Vice President and all. Plus, everyone will be pissed if I don't show up.

EMMAh 08.09.2008 06:08 PM

I have the most massive bump on my head from bashing it in all sorts of places on the sail boat. Fucking hell.

Derek 08.09.2008 06:14 PM

Ornette Coleman rules

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 06:19 PM

^^^ "Free Jazz" = Infinite Win.

"The Shape Of Jazz To Come" has Win written all over it too. His life story is really interesting, as well.

Derek 08.09.2008 06:22 PM

Lonely Woman is the greatest composition ever.

I was gonna go to bed right now but now I need to wait and let my mum in the house.

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 06:25 PM

Derek - if you're into your jazz, you must get John Coltrane's "Live In Seattle" - completely mindblowing and, in it's own way, one of the most extreme pieces of music you'll ever hear. The bit where him and Pharoah Sanders literally scream out an Om mantra vocally is truly staggering for all the right reasons.

Derek 08.09.2008 06:28 PM

I love Coltrane but not heard that, I'll definitely listen to it though!

Jazz is the one type of music that's better live than on record.

downloading as we speak

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 06:48 PM

Guys, you will seriously love it (TrueMellyFax - I scored an original vinyl copy of that when I was unemployed for v v cheap :))

acousticrock87 08.09.2008 06:48 PM

Live in Seattle is almost terrifying. It's too good to be safe.

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 06:53 PM

The "Live In Japan" 4xCD set is even better that "Live In Seattle" too - an hour long version of "My Favourite Things", which even cuts the version on "Live In The Villager Vanguard Again".

John Coltrane = GOD.

acousticrock87 08.09.2008 06:57 PM

Coltrane and Monk are the best musicians to ever live. And they played together.

Everything after them has just been mere humans goofing around with the remains of music.

MellySingsDoom 08.09.2008 07:00 PM

The only people who could literally cut Coltrane are Albert Ayler and Cecil Taylor.
TOTAL respect to Miles Davis too - his evil charisma in the 60's is staggering, and many "rcok" musos shouls listen to "In A Silent Way" too.
