Yeah, it was booed and walked out of, but not the version you saw. That version has never been released. He had made another cut of the film that was something like an hour longer, featuring much more driving footage and whatnot. I think the slimmed-down version is actually a pretty great film. Underrated, definitely.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 04.08.2009 09:14 AM

I really enjoyed The Brown Bunny, as well. I've never seen Buffalo '66 but have heard an awful lot of praise for the film.

Am I missing out?

me. 04.08.2009 09:33 AM

If you liked The Brown Bunny, pretty sure you'll like Buffalo,

quite like the look of this one too!

anyone seen it?

davenotdead 04.08.2009 10:43 AM

I quite liked Buffalo 66. haven't seen Brown Bunny yet

Just finished with Synecdoche, New York.

Easily my favorite Charlie Kaufman movie now. Way better than Adaptation and Eternal Sunshine, and even Being John Malkovich.

It's not that I feel I should defend this film, but it's more I dont think ppl realize exactlly how a bold a statement it is to call something a 0/10. I've seen a LOT of films. Many that were worse than Smith. And few that I could seriously give a 0/10 (ie: devoid of even a shred of redeaming qualities). [besides, the lowest I could give anything would be a 1/10, because I use a 1-10 scale. As great as Spinal Tap is, if I gave it a 0/10 that would be on a 11-point scale system, and c'mon!]

Ha. I suppose a 0/10 is a little harsh, but I saw that movie once, and absolutely hated it! That was a few years ago, I'll watch it again and tell you what I think.

atsonicpark 04.08.2009 10:30 PM

I have trouble every day in my netflix queue but haven't seen it yet. It looks sexy.

exploding plastic candle 04.10.2009 02:58 AM

technically '91 TYPB, but since everyone here has probably seen that I might as well go with:

Man on Wire.

It's about the guy who walked on a tightrope across the empire state buildings. pretty damn good movie, see it if you get the chance

sarramkrop 04.10.2009 06:51 AM

I've just re-watched 1967's The Incident in honour of the fact that I have finally found a DVD copy of it on the internet, so I won't have to rely on my crappy VHS anymore. It's easily in my top 3 favourite movies of all the time, the way the tension builds up is amazing.

Youtube has it too:

A bunch of experimental shit.

noisereductions 04.10.2009 07:44 AM

I have Drift. I watched it once. meh.

atsonicpark 04.10.2009 07:49 AM

Yeah I'm not going to pretend that it doesn't kinda blow a nasty dick.

breligion 04.10.2009 11:33 AM

I had high expectations. I kind of liked it. Maybe I'll like it more if I watch it again. 6.5/10

That is an awesome movie. I love his enthusiasm for what he does.

I heard an interview of him once on NPR; the guy never watches TV. I'm positive there is a link between that and how much he is able to get done in a day.

viewtiful_alan 04.10.2009 09:19 PM

8/10
The scenes with the driving instructor were brilliant.

automatic bzooty 04.11.2009 05:49 PM

we knew this was going to be awful when we rented it, but we were at least hoping for hilariously awful. it was just... boring. too much talking and plot, not enough people being CGI'd to bloody bits.

This Is Not Here 04.11.2009 08:06 PM

Pretty grim stuff, though you do get see Mick Jagger as a drag queen, which is just bizarre.

atsonicpark 04.11.2009 08:15 PM

quantum of solace - 5/10.

This Is Not Here 04.11.2009 09:48 PM

Woaw, amazing film

viewtiful_alan 04.11.2009 11:06 PM

7.5/10 (more like a 7.25)
I still don't get why they didn't just give this role to Danny McBride.. its pretty much the role he was born for.

The Gore Gore Girls

Decasia

Sadly only got to see the first half.

Naked Lunch

Death & the Maiden 04.12.2009 02:54 AM

The Village

atsonicpark 04.12.2009 06:44 AM

Decasia: State of Decay is insane, eh?

I've probably watched Gore Gore Girls more than any horror movie ever, aside from Dead Alive and Night Train to Terror (and Psycho Cop 2, but that's more of a comedy).

This Is Not Here 04.12.2009 07:52 AM

I've heard good things about Decasia...

atsonicpark 04.12.2009 08:05 AM

it's really interesting. reminds me of another film called Lyrical Nitrate but more entertaining.

noisereductions 04.12.2009 08:36 AM

I've never seen Night Train To Terror.

atsonicpark 04.12.2009 04:43 PM

It'll blow your MIND.
