The last one is Calamity Jane's tombstone. I thought it was funny.

nicfit 05.12.2007 03:28 PM

the buffalo one is great danny, I love the car mirror in it!

Danny Himself 05.12.2007 04:09 PM

Thanks. The mirror helps show how deep into wilderness the car was.

"into my face!"

Tokolosh 05.14.2007 09:53 AM

This morning I filmed and took photos of this 9 meter juvenile humpback whale that's been cruising along our coastline for the last few days.
We're experiencing rough weather today. 5 meter waves made us all seriously seasick. It was funny to see people turn grey and puke overboard. :D

Mr Gormley's statues:

There's about 100 of thse statues, over a mile or so of Crosby beach, all looking out to sea. Many of them have been decorated by passers-by with beach debris and whatnot, and that bottom pic is my favourite example.

Hip Priest 05.16.2007 04:47 PM

And another bloody shot of that windmill:

Two of them are currently on the the fourth wall (which is a kind of roof) of the building where i work because there's a Gormley exhibition at the Hayward Gallery next door. A third one has been placed on Waterloo Bridge to make it look like a morning commuter. The entire fourth wall has also being covered in green grass, which is quite a sight. I'm planning to go to the exhibition this weekend.

Wow, thats awesome. I love ice cream trucks. American ones. They remind me of the smashing pumpkins video where Billy goes crazy.

Hip Priest 05.16.2007 06:16 PM

Ice cream trucks remind me of Ghost Dog. So do pigeons flying about.

I lived in Guffey. Behind Co. Sprgs. about 65 miles. Nowhere near anywhere actually, South Park. Cripple Creek was 25 miles, Florrisant about 20 miles, Canon City 35 miles, Hartsell 25 miles. One of the most isolated communities in Colorado. I loved it. Here 'tis...

Danny Himself 05.17.2007 06:17 PM

Colorado is mind blowing.

Here's my cheesy picture of denver

i'm actually familiar with guffey...just more like drive bys. my dad owns an acre of land outside of florisant-- been fishing/camping/hiking throught the area my whole life.

against_the_grain 05.17.2007 06:31 PM

I miss it alot. I'm now right 'in' NYC, quite the contrast ! The South Platte, just southwest of Florissant is great too....sweet trout fishin'...11 mile canyon. 10 miles from Guffey. The beauty really does abound.

*btw Danny Himself, that's not cheesy ! Denver isn't in Wisconsin.
