she just never learned to read or write... becuz she preferred getting prepubescent teen boy sex after listening to him read to her...

Kegmama 05.18.2009 02:49 PM

the last movie i watched was this:

i wanted to be more impressed. it had its funny moments and some interesting ganja facts. but could have been mucho better.

afterthefact 05.19.2009 10:25 AM

I watched Taken last night. It was pretty good, as long as you can suspend disbelief for a bit, and not try and analyze it or anything.

atsonicpark 05.19.2009 10:29 AM

I'll probably watch that later. It looks bad but everyone keeps telling me it's good, so...

afterthefact 05.19.2009 10:31 AM

Well, it's nothing fantastic, but for what it is, it's well done.

What I mean to say is that given the premise of the movie, and seeing that it was a mainstream release, it really could have been a lot worse. I enjoyed it.

Rob Instigator 05.19.2009 10:43 AM

watched slumdog millionaire with g/f last night.

that shit was slumdoggin it!

It was cool.

I give it an 8.5/10

maybe a 9

afterthefact 05.19.2009 10:52 AM

Yeah, slumdog was great. There is something about little Indian kids in movies that just makes you fear the whole time watching them that something bad is going to happen to them. I call this "The Kite Runner Effect."

I didn't enjoy Slumdog Millionaire at all. The story, camerawork,
colour rendition, soundtrack or cheesy acting. Overrated.

For that, I'd say 7.5. I enjoyed it but I can't stand Johnny Ramone talking smack all the time about everybody.

"Baby steps....baabbby steps"

Derek 05.19.2009 05:55 PM

Battle Royale II... not as good as the first ahaha. Wasn't horrible though.

Drop Dead Fred... entertaining.

atsonicpark 05.19.2009 09:27 PM

Come on Derek, Battle Royale II is terrible.

Sonic Youth 37 05.19.2009 11:10 PM

Not really a movie per se, but probably one of the funniest things ever. I'm still kicking myself for not shelling out the $30 to see him do this bit in the fall of 07. 11/10

atsonicpark 05.19.2009 11:11 PM

Yeah, that's Filthy World is pretty damn cool. For people with netflix, it's on instant watch, last I looked.

Sonic Youth 37 05.20.2009 04:01 PM

This is possibly the best Gangster movie since Casino. 8/10

jon boy 05.20.2009 04:10 PM

slumdog millionaire. not what i was expecting at all and quite brutal but it was ok.

TheDom 05.20.2009 05:40 PM

Battle for Haditha 7/10 The hard truth.
Taken 7/10 Quite suspenseful.

and the new Star Trek last night. 8/10
Very entertaining to see how the original characters fall into place.
Best Trekkie movie so far. Full of anamorphic flares and excellent CGI.
Well paced.

nicfit 05.22.2009 05:46 AM

I think someone else liked it (terriblecanyons?) but to my eyes, besides some decent visual ideas (most of the times not carried on much well, actually), it's basically pure wankery.
Still, as atsonic can tell, there's a good reason to watch it haha.

then:

Not nearly as good/funny as I hoped, but Bridges is great. quite forgettable.

atsonicpark 05.22.2009 05:51 AM

I think I gave Tracey Fragments a 5/10. Ellen Page is my crush, the movie is quick and to the point and conceptually interesting, but yeah nothing really happens in it.

This reminds me.. the first time I ever ate a whole bag of shrooms... I was laughing for a few hours.. and then I sat and told my friend how I thought Ellen Page is the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen... then, I cried. Then, life was good.

Oh and it lacked Takeshi Kitano.

atsonicpark 05.22.2009 07:08 AM

Haha, Battle Royale II was like a shitty war movie. It lacked everything that made BR good -- except for the cute girls.

Schizophrenia 05.22.2009 07:53 AM

I kinda liked it. :)

atsonicpark 05.22.2009 07:55 AM

In the Mood for Love rules. I'd give it an 8/10. Wong Kar Wai is amazing.
