ps, if you have large boobs and a small waist, wear a jacket that buttons at the waist.

i'm trying to pick out something to wear for the marc jacobs deal tonight and it is frustrating.

Everyneurotic 09.08.2008 06:55 PM

I would totally wear something that buttons at the waist... but my waist is tiny and my hips are HUUUUUUGE and it makes them look bigger than usual.

I have the weirdest body shape, I swear. It's like the hourglass on acid.

my body is similarly shaped (i actually looked it up and i have a perfect hourglass shape, aren't i fortunate) but as far as measurements go i'm tiny all over

ps i'm wearing these shoes with a sparkly red spaghetti strap mini dress

Yeah... It's super hard to shop for clothes that don't look weird on me. I'm sure you know the feeling.

Kickass shoes btw. Please don't break anything wearing them.

i definitely know the feeling. plus being tall i have a bitch of a time finding pants long enough.

thank youuu, they're vintage. i'll try not to break my ankles.

those are really fierce, red boots are awesome, the knee high variety are my faves overall

the big chunky knits i love, oversize knit sweaters, jackets look so nice, i personally have a couple of big knit sweaters that i wear that look nice and look great over tight jeans, a look that complements ladies very much as well

maybe a bit late but i kinda know the big boobs problem... even though i only have a small c, it's hard to find a shirt that isn't too tight around my chest. and if it fits, its loose around the waist... it seems they hardly make clothes that flatter an hourglass figure these days. it's getting better now, but remember this whole tunic thing, when they sold huge bags as dresses? that doesn't look good at all..

davenotdead 09.09.2008 10:37 AM

more posts like the last 2 plz. this boobs issue is interesting.

i never ever wear tight shirts. always loose (i prefer a men's small) t-shirts but a tight dress or pants is alright.

tiny ribcage + disproportionately large boobs = 32 D

davenotdead 09.09.2008 10:41 AM

a question for the girls: when sleeping, bra or no bra?

Cantankerous 09.09.2008 10:43 AM

oh christ, look what i've started.

i prefer not to wear one most of the time but especially when i'm sleeping.

Question about pants color and shoe color: Can I wear very dark brown shoes with black pants? I don't have any nice dressy black shoes, but I have some nice chocolate brown suede shoes. I've tried the combination and it looks good to me, but I'm just wondering what the girls think. Is a black shoe de riguer or can I get away with a dark brown?

that sounds fine to me. probably more interesting than a black shoe, actually.

gmku 09.09.2008 10:45 AM

Thanks.

Seriously, this is my biggest problem with clothes. I often have a hard time telling what colors go together.

i tried to wear loose shirts sometimes but i don't seem to pull it off, i guess i'm too small for them. the only loose-fitting thing i wear is one of my father's old shirts. its really long already, to me its a short dress. i wear it with tights. my mom says i look like i'm still in pyjamas, but most of my friends think it looks good enough :P

gmku 09.09.2008 10:49 AM

Speaking of which... most men's shirts are made for a generous fit, and it's really hard to find things that don't look blousy consequentially. Men would do well to go more for those tailored or slim fits, though, when they can find them.

mangajunky 09.09.2008 10:49 AM

this thread makes me feel like a voyeur

i'm not picky about the fit of anything as long as it's the size i want it...i don't really think about it. i just try it on and if it looks good to me that's it. except for t-shirts because i absolutely refuse to wear tight t-shirts because i think they're tacky.
