Maybe in the US, but there's a huge Hip Hop scene in Europe where I'd say it's actually graffiti that dominates over the other elements, at least in terms of people creating stuff (rather than just consuming it).

Not true.

Hasn’t been true in ages.

Where’s the rapping on “Are you that Somebody?” Eh? Nowhere. Is the song hip-hop? Yes.

Where’s the rapping on 808s? Does Thug even rap? Future doesn’t.

No, rapping is to hip-hop what guitar is to rock.

You = wrongo

It has way too many songs. 14 songs would've been ideal.. so it has 9 too many. Won't listen again in full for that reason. Might revisit a few songs in the next couple weeks then forget about it entirely.

I’m not sure how I feel about it but it’s certainly no gut punch, out-of-the-park home run. Waaaaay too long.

God, remember when Yeezus dropped? How amazing was that? Was that the last album from an artist of that era to gain universal acclaim and shake shit up like a motherfucker?

I’m nervous about Yandhi.
Just saw this horrible tweet on Noisey where those assholes wrote: “Honeslyy who cares enough to write about him anymore?”

Ah, that's related to vice. Fuck em and their cooler than thou attitude. I look on their Twitter every now and then and wanna puke.

Hopefully Kanyes new album will.be better than his last effort.

They are slamming Kanye just like Pitchfork.

Didn’t you like Ye? You said “it’s not boring,” if I recall.

I love it. It’s just short as fuck.
I like Kids See Ghosts more overall, but Ye has more top-tier songs.

Severian 09.30.2018 08:08 AM

Holy fuck. After seeing about 40% of Kanye’s SNL performance and pro-Trump speech, I’m not sure I have it in me anymore.

I don’t give a fuck. I might have to not listen to any post-Ye albums.

THE FUCK, Kanye?

Democrats want to pull fathers out of homes and put everyone on Welfare?!?!
WHAT.
WHAT.
WHAT.

h8kurdt 09.30.2018 08:56 AM

Yeah, same here. I was actually gonna get tickets for the SNL show but missed the 7am deadline to try and get them. Kinda glad I did.

I've always maintained that you don't have to like the artist to like the music. However, when the stuff Kanye spouts is clearly the wrong facts and obvious bullshit then that's different. Oh, kanye we hardly know ye.

I don’t even know if I want to keep paying money for his music.

Oddly, Yeezus and Ye are the things I listened to most this weekend, but FUCK ME, WHAT THE MOTHERFUCKING FUCK.

Stupid ass fucking child-man. Sick fuck.

Does he not get that he can’t force his will on the populace on this one?
There’s no “dialogue” to be had. There’s a monster in the White House and this idiot is actively promoting him.

Wanna die.

louder 09.30.2018 07:06 PM

More than anything, I'm sad he didn't write Violent Crimes.

Welp.

louder 09.30.2018 07:10 PM

And I hate how he keeps taking advantage of the fact people pay attention to him only because they're anticipating a new album to rant about politics, and literally everything BUT music.

That songs kinda shit though, lyrically.

Talking about his daughters period? Her tits? The fuck?
Kinda glad he didn’t write it. Musically I love it, but

I don’t even know what’s going on and I don’t really care

I’m tired of being part of the problem by giving this moron my attention. He’s *barely* talking about politics. He only has a fleeting glimpse of an idea what the fuck he’s talking about

MONUMENTALLY depressing fucking Kanye day.

RIP Kanye’s career (2004-2018)

evollove 10.01.2018 09:08 AM

Colin pissed off one side by not staying in his lane.

Kanye pisses off the other by not staying in his lane.

Conclusion: White people of all political stripes just don't like it when darkies get uppidy.

Solution: Black people should ask for permission before expressing themselves.

Ye rn:

Dr. Eugene Felikson 10.01.2018 10:15 AM

Dude's had so much attention, and smoke blown up his ass for so long that he doesn't even realize that the entirety of the world doesn't revolve around him. Advising people to follow their hearts and not their minds, talking about abolishing the 13th amendment, telling young people with bi-polar disorder (or any mental illness fwiw) that it's some sort of superpower, and that MAGA hats are like superman capes, and oh god.. I wish he'd just go away.

With his mental illness, Kardashian life, and position in pop culture, it's amazing that the dude isn't more off the wall but dude needs to chill. There's no way his new album is anything more than a slightly coherent mess. Ye thinks he's being deep and provocative by defending Trump, rocking MAGA gear, and criticizing liberals without seeming to have any context as to why people are so opposed to those he's aligned himself with.

Yikes.

Rob Instigator 10.01.2018 10:56 AM

told you he was a dumb fucking dumb fuck from the way back. everything he has ever said or rapped has been straight out of the mind of an egomaniac idiot.

Yeah but... DUDE...

He’s just spitting lies and saying insane shit. That’s not what Kaepernick did.

He shouldn’t ask for permission. He should just fucking BE AN ADULT AND THINK IT THROUGH before expressing INSANE opinions and essentially donning the flag of domestic terrorism that is the MAGA hat.

There’s not “keep the black man down” logic behind this. He’s acting like a fucking buffoon, and potentially turning kids onto Trump, so he is in fact becoming dangerous.

Rob Instigator 10.01.2018 11:01 AM

maybe he should have stuck to music and not politics....hahhahahah that goes for a lot of people though.

Rob Instigator 10.01.2018 11:02 AM

kanye is a "black" man who never dated black women, and he aims to speak for all people of color....

Dr. Eugene Felikson 10.01.2018 11:12 AM

Kanye has a shitforce of cultural influence in America, and keeps proclaiming these vague outlandish concepts as if he were some sort of prophet, but when given the platform to elaborate on his ideas you realize that the logic behind everything that he comes out of his mouth is even more poppycock.

In other news...

Birdman's Leaked Phone Call From Lil Wayne Bus Shooting: "Come Get Your Money"

Young Thug also called the tour bus shooter 8 times before the events went down.

Last week, it was reported that Birdman and Young Thug may be charged in relation to the shooting of Lil Wayne's tour bus in 2015. While the district attorney is still weighing the options, evidence has just been released that seemingly proves Birdman's involvement in the crime.
The decision to possibly charge Thugger and Stunna came as somewhat of a surprise. The news was overshadowed by the fact that Weezy had just released one of the most anticipated albums of the entire decade. Although it may not come as a surprise to some, Birdman and Young Thug were reportedly in contact with Jimmy Winfrey, the shooter of Wayne's tour bus in 2015, before everything happened. One of Baby's phone calls with the man was leaked and an Atlanta news outlet happened to find it.
In the phone call, Birdman tells Winfrey that it was time for him to "come out and get [his] money." He assured the man that he did "everything [he] could do, boss." The same report alleges that Young Thug had called Winfrey 8 times in the 12 minutes leading to the bus shooting, which is definitely pretty suspicious. Some of this information is certainly damaging and may have led to the district attorney deciding whether to charge them or not.
Thug and Birdman were not previously charged in relation to the crime. Have a listen to the report below, which was reposted after airing locally.

Rob Instigator 10.01.2018 11:13 AM

charles Barkley, thje basketball player, said once, black people are democrats, until they get rich, and then they become republicans.

The rich, for the most part, only get involved politically when it comes to "protecting" their money.

social issues do not matter to them because they can BUY whatever they need, whether that is good bedside manners, adequate housing, legal representation, private police force, get out of jail free cards, etc, etc.....

You actually don’t know that much about him, do you?

Never really bothered to learn about him or his music.

No, Amber was not back and neither is Kim, but what you’re saying is factually incorrect and ALSO ... WHATS THE FUCKING POINT?

Do I have to date white people to be white?

You have issues with all the wrong things.

He meant prisons, but he didn’t say it because he’s dumb as fuck and only has a newsfeed understanding of affairs current, historical or otherwise.

MUSICALLY though... brilliant.

Rob Instigator 10.01.2018 02:30 PM

no issues. just stating how sequestered and separate rich people can get from their original beginnings. he can date who he want. he can;t TALK FOR all though...

Nah man, you can’t walk that back like that.

You directly implied that he wasn’t being black enough because he didn’t date *enough* black women *recently* ...

I’m not gonna judge you or be a dick, but you should take a second and sit with what you said here, and maybe reflect on it.

(and he’s not trying to speak for all black people. He’s doing a LOT of things wrong, but that isn’t one of them.)

evollove 10.01.2018 02:54 PM

White people can praise Trump without incident.

Black guy does it and it's armageddon.

I'm not comfortable with that and I'm sticking to it.

So "Yandhi" (probably a tentative title now) is pushed back to Nov 23.. Black Friday. And Kanye says he's gonna fly to Africa and work on the music there to get inspired and recapture the magic of 808s/MBDTF/WTT.

Interested..
