5" sandpaper discs just latch to the pad with tiny velcro (hook & loop)

the disk spins, but in a random orbit-- the head moves in an ellipse so the abrasive never hits the same spot.

IT'S FUCKING SWEET.

just sanded me an old rotten table and it looks new and beautiful. no swirls, no gouges, just fucking smooth perfection.

EVOLghost 11.02.2013 06:51 PM

more drugs, cigarettes, will be buying booze n stuff. Having ourselves a little party here I guess...The drugs I bought today will deinfitely come in hand.

the only sander i have that spins or rotates is an egder, which is similar to what you have just not as advance. i only use vibrating palm sanders because they don't leave sanding marks and dig into the wood much. Belt sanders are another story all together.

what man that cost me $70 at home depot, you can get a milwaukee for $60, etc. the dewalt i returned was $80. it's not like it was a porter cable or something like that. actually it's an "amateur" sander but the pro versions are what, $200 or so?

maybe we're calling the same thing two different names, eg. palm sander or random orbit sander. same thing.

look here, good article, i read it while researching what to get (i had to sand a bunch of drywall and then other stuff happened, long story, i kept the sander, belt i don't need). but a good read, esp. for pros:

well, they're not really the same thing. depends on what kind of finish you're wanting to take off or not. i wouldn't just use a regular palm sander to strip any kind of finish off like varnish or something, that's for sure. you know what i mean?

ha and btw i have a huge mitre saw by Dewalt that i've used for years and it's a piece of shit. had to buy one of those universal stands for the thing, and damn if it's not made by Dewalt. go figure.

i'll check that article out

yeah, i can't imagine stripping a floor w/ a palm sander, not even w/ 40 grit, but i removed varnish from a table with it though. i originallt got mine cuz i needed to remove latex paint from purple board without fucking up the coating, and a belt sander was too much. fucked the coating anyway. replacing the drywall with hardiebacker now, ha ha ha.

I have to exchange a shirt I bought and buy some speakers for my new stereo(and a new needle...but I'll probably get that sucka online). I kind of don't want to go to the store...I might end up spending too much money. Or maybe I should just get really high so I don't pay too much attention the what is around me.....I think I"ll do that....I'll bring my headphones too.

If you have a car and are willing to come around and pick it up I have a spare double deck with a turntable at home which has been gathering dust.

!@#$%! 09.27.2014 05:28 PM

i only shop once a week so yesterday i went to a liquor superstore & scored the following:

-flor de caña reserva especial - liquid gold!!!

-herradura silver - like drinking from mother earth's lips

-tito's vodka - finally i'm trying this. it's pretty smooth but i think vodka is fucking boring. still, sometimes i like breakfast with a screwdirver.

-some german kirschwasser - tasty! all high notes & no bass.

-some cheap french pear liqueur (18% only) - a bit cloying

-a massive can of smirnoff - this is to dunk fruits in. i'd love me some grappa instead but the economics of vodka make this the unavoidable choice.

-fever tree ginger beers - makes an awesome dark & stormy!!
