https://abovethelaw.com/2019/06/kell...t-rule-of-law/

most people, most of the time, follow the law, for no reason other than it happens to be the law. We don’t run red lights even when nobody is around, we don’t piss in the elevator, we don’t maliciously defame our enemies, we don’t solicit prostitution, we don’t leave the restaurant without paying our bill, we don’t cosh random black people in London. We follow laws we don’t even agree with. We follow laws that cost us time, money, and effort. We live in a free country and yet we follow totally stupid and unenforceable laws all the time. Why? It’s a tenuous thing. We follow the law because we imagine other people are also following the law and we perceive it’s in our societal self-interest for them to do so. We follow the law because we want other people to follow the law, and we don’t want to be the ones to ruin it for everybody.

Bad news for Manafort. SCOTUS 7-2 to allow States to prosecute for same crime as Feds, allowing a state and the federal government to each prosecute an individual for the same action if it violates both state and federal laws.

The SCOTUS has held the Constitution's double jeopardy clause allows states and the federal government to prosecute an individual for the same offense saying, "Where there are two sovereigns, there are two laws and two 'offences.'"

Justices Ginsburg and Gorsuch dissented.

takes care of the Trimppardon ® issue.

"cake artist"

great article in FFRF newsletter about testing for anti gay bias. If religious objections to war (conscientious objector status) are examined by a group of experts to determine sincerity and adherence to doctrine. why are citers of Leviticus not examined by a similarly powerful panel to determine if they are true believers or merely cherry picking Leviticus for what supports their bias and prejudice (if there are in fact, any cherries whatsoever in that text)?

Leviticus also calls for no shellfish, no mixed fiber, etc. So, are the "cake artists" questioned about ALL YOU CAN EAT SHRIMP NITE? And, if not, why not?

It’s morons who don’t understand 7-2!

All of what you said is mostly correct, yet two morons dissented. If Crooked Hillary was in office, if she had been nominating Supreme Court Justices, it might have been a 5-4 vote or the vote could have gone the other way.

Notice how I said you were “mostly correct.”

Justice Alito: “the cross is undoubtedly a Christian symbol,”......so it's much more than a secular war memorial!

Only angry atheist would sink so low as to try and remove war memorials......only Godless fools would support them.

7-2 hasn’t killed the “Lemon test,” but it’s given it a blow:

One of the most significant questions that the new ruling left in a kind of constitutional limbo is whether the Court will any longer judge government actions that affect or support religion by a standard that it has used since 1971 – amid rising criticism by conservative Justices. That is the so-called “Lemon test,” taking its name from the decision in the case of Lemon v. Kurtzmann.

Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. wrote that while “the cross is undoubtedly a Christian symbol,” it also had many powerful secular purposes, including “historical landmark” and a “place for the community to gather and honor all veterans.”

Individuals who choose to not believe in anything have lost the right to try and stop or remove America’s Monuments, Memorials and Long Standing Practices. Five of the Supreme Court Justices have said the “lemon test” no longer applies.

A new precedent has been set!

Justice Scalia compares the “lemon test” to some ghoul in a late night horror movie that repeatedly sits up in its grave and shuffles abroad, after being repeatedly killed and buried, Lemon stalks our Establishment Clause jurisprudence once again, frightening thelittle children and school attorneys of Center Moriches Union Free School District.......now that’s funny!

No one is denying that the cross or the Star of David are religious symbols, the Supreme Court is now saying that Christian Symbols represent more than religion = the power of 7-2

This Ruling Is So Important For America’s
Heritage
Patriotism
Binding us together as a Nation

7-2 represents a shift in the Court......the shift coming with Justices Kavanaugh and Gorsuch. Elections = CONSEQUENCES and TRUMP being a serious contender is the proof. November 3rd is right around the corner and there will be new Supreme Court Justices to nominate :D

Jerusalem (AFP) - An Israeli court Sunday convicted the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of fraudulently using state funds for meals, under a plea bargain which dropped more severe charges.
While the ruling cut short a high-profile trial, the Netanyahu family's legal woes are far from over: the veteran premier himself faces possible indictment for bribery, fraud and breach of trust in the coming months.
In a deal approved by judge Avital Chen at Jerusalem magistrates' court, Sara Netanyahu was found guilty of using the errors of government accounting staff to bypass spending restrictions.
She was fined 10,000 shekels ($2,800) and ordered to reimburse the state a further 45,000 shekels.
Although her husband is a millionaire she asked for payment to be deferred and the judge allowed her to pay in monthly instalments beginning in September.
"The deal reached between the sides is worthy and appropriately reflects the deeds and their severity on the criminal level," Chen said in his ruling.
The 60-year-old, a high-profile presence at her husband's side throughout his long tenure in office, was initially charged in June 2018 with fraud and breach of trust for paying $100,000 (85,000 euros) for meals from well-known Jerusalem businesses.

....in our Country’s history, and the poverty index is also best number EVER), leagues and teams love coming to the White House. I am a big fan of the American Team, and Women’s Soccer, but Megan should WIN first before she TALKS! Finish the job! We haven’t yet....

....invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose. Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear. The USA is doing GREAT!
