A lot of people have been disappointed with it, but as a Henenlotter fan for almost half my life, I can safely say it lived up to my expectations. It actually has some genuinely disturbing scenes in it. And the dialogue is fucking hilarious. A surreal, odd, DIFFERENT horror film... it's no Brain Damage, but I think I might like it more than Frankenhooker. Also, yeah, it was shot with 35mm, so no digital crap here.. it looks just like the movies from the good ol' days.

Oh, man! Thank God! I was convinced in my head it was Digital! This is great news. I can't wait to see it.

Signal 30
http://www.archive.org/details/Signal301959
Legendary "shock" driving safety film featuring numerous scenes of mutilated cars and injured/dead people and a voiceover lacking in compassion. Produced in cooperation with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and shown to millions of young drivers for over 40 years. CONTENT ADVISORY: Many disturbing scenes of violent deaths and accident scenes; cries of crash victims on soundtrack.

Harold & Kumar (both flicks), bah.
Hatchet : bah again, I wanna know who's that topless girl with military hat in one of the first scenes
Lady Vengeance (coz a girl refused to watch it alone): love it, everytime I rewatch it I see new things in the shots.
Mondo Cane 2 : weird ass "shockumentary" with great "voiceover", there are some subtitled bits on youtube but translation is really impossible for this flick.

atsonicpark 06.20.2009 05:09 PM

lady vengeance is so good. that sex scene at the dinner table is one of the best scenes in any film, ever.

Much of Mondo Cane 2 is staged (including the self-immolation scene). Messrs Prosperi and Jacopetti later bludgeoned audiences with "Africa Addio" and the awe-bogglingly offensive "Adios Zio Tom". Sleazoid Express did a pretty good hatchet job on Signor J, accusing him of various libellous doings. As for Signor Prosperi, he later unleashed "Wild Beasts" onto the great unwashed (I still need to see this film).

yep (I wanted to define it "mockumentary", but imdb's definition was kinda intiguing), still it's superfun to watch, the voiceover is amazing, too bad you guys can't "appreciate" it in its full hilarious/semiserious tone.

ps: time to go to sleep.
is it worth to waste some time on that Benjamin Button thing or better to watch 28 days later (haven't watched it yet)?

The last movie I actually sat down and watched the whole way through was, I think, Eyes Wide Shut.
I'll probably have to watch it again, though.

atsonicpark 06.20.2009 08:37 PM

I have an original copy of future war.. you know, the un-mst3k'ized version.

noisereductions 06.20.2009 08:48 PM

I like having un-mst3k versions... I had Hobgoblins for a while before I even knew that was on mst3k! Shit's awful. Awful!

Heroic Purgatory

the street fighter chun li one.

purely out of curiousity. and the fact that i can remember when sf 2 was out in arcades and putting your quarter on top of an arcade machine meant you were next in line to play.

not even nostalgia could have saved this one.

i rate it fairly bad.

on another note. i hate obvious wire work in action films. it always manages to take me out of the scene.

noisereductions 06.21.2009 07:14 PM

Hatchet is pretty fun.

Frauen für Zellenblock 9 (1977)

i would rate it seven out of ten. it was good when it was doing the exploitation part of the exploitation film.

At first I thought the second half was really not up to par, but the ending fucking made it.

GeneticKiss 06.22.2009 01:12 AM

Okay guys, I'm trying to watch Lost Highway. I don't care if any of you think it's good or not. I have wanted to see this movie since hearing the soundtrack years ago. Thing is, none of the video places around here carry it, and I'm looking for a quick fix (strange thing to ask from a Lynch film).

I'm trying to find non-shady websites that I can watch it from, but so far all I can find are clips and sites that want me to install players (i.e. adware) on my computer.

I'm thinking my best option is to sign up for a free trial of Netflix, see if I can stream it on my computer, and cancel my membership right afterwards.

Have I answered my own question?
