This was just one of those days. You never know what yer gonna walk in and see. A used early pressing for only 8 bucks.

Also got a first pressing of Beggars Banquet, the RSVP cover, before they deleted the "Written by Mick Jagger & Keith Richards" from the back cover (cuz Prodigal Son wasn't credited to the songwriter on those early copies).

I'm undecided so far. I wish I hadn't previously read that the CD was intended to be played on shuffle, and be 50 tracks long instead of just 2 long tracks that it turned out to be because of pressing error.

I really want to be able to listen to it as it was intended.

This though is great (bought it a while ago, but have only just given it a proper listen):

Today, three quid in the market:

youthoftomorrow 09.01.2006 07:34 PM

Butthole Surfers - Rembrandt Pussyhorse/Cream Corn from The Socket of Davis EP

i'm really enjoying this. "To Parter" is one of the coolest songs i've ever heard.

Birthday Party - Prayers on Fire

my brother has a copy of this. i listened to it a few times and decided i needed my own copy (seeing as he and i live about 1500 miles apart).

HaydenAsche 09.01.2006 08:01 PM

SamGoody was going out of business the other day and I picked up Tapes N' Tapes' The Loon for 8.99. It's a decent album.

king_buzzo 09.03.2006 09:23 AM

gmku 09.05.2006 09:45 AM

Thinking of getting a vinyl copy of Junkyard by the Birthday Party today. Any good?

TheDom 09.05.2006 09:51 AM

No, get some Nick Drake instead.

You don't mean Nick Cave.

DemonBox 09.05.2006 11:15 AM

I don't really know Nick Cave that good, it's a shame, what I've heard have been good, but I never got to the point of buying any records by him. Oh well, I'm still young, I have lots of good listening experiences to come:)

Iain 09.05.2006 01:30 PM

Got:

The Essential Bo Diddley
Koji Asano - Rabbit Room Reservation Center
Radio Pyongyang - Commie Funk and Agit Pop from the Hermit Kingdom

All for a fiver from Steves Sounds. Thanks for the tip off go to porkmarras....

Everyneurotic 09.05.2006 01:34 PM

don't listen to them, the birthday party>pretty much anything else, nick drake puts me to sleep, the b-party rawk!

and i love deep wound!

last albums i bought were bardo pond, munheiro narita and gaping maw from the archive label, all are ace!!

gmku 09.05.2006 02:37 PM

Bought it, Junk Yard. Must go home and play. The Ed Roth cover art is awesome.

by the way, Nick Cave is the dude in Birthday Party, not Nick Drake. I wasn't sure if Drake's mention was intentional or if people are mixing up Cave and Drake. Anyway, two different dudes, two different eras. One's still alive (I believe), the other became a deceased singer-songwriter in 1974.

screamingskull 09.05.2006 02:39 PM

Cat Power - The Greatest

I finally decided to buy my own copy of White Light/White Heat

On the way home, my mom and I were jammin' to Sister Ray, and she was repeating everything Lou said until we got to "too busy sucking on my ding dong". She just froze and there this awkward silence until she starts laughing and says "Why's he letting somebody suck on his ding dong? That's just not right...."

mate feed kill repeat sucks, it's a waste of money, a novelty to have because it's slipknot's "unreleased first album"; they didn't start to be good until corey taylor and the two djs joined the band.

i just bougth an acid mothers temple 7" from schmebay

HaydenAsche 09.08.2006 09:25 AM

I bought Hello Astronaut, Goodby Television - Pixelated Math Costumes last week.
