I thought Pumpkinhead had some of the coolest-looking visuals I'd seen in film, otherwise I can't really remember much about it. :)

I love this movie

Is that as horrible as I imagine...?

Sonic Youth 37 07.20.2009 10:45 PM

I'd go so far to say that anyone who doesn't like this, first pairing of Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor doesn't deserve to live. I can understand hating Stir Crazy, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Another You because they are (mostly) stupid. Silver Streak is amazing though.

haha alright, haha I thoguth it looked like pure seventies cheese, but I might have to see it myself if its that good.

Sonic Youth 37 07.20.2009 10:50 PM

It's pure 70s and a bit cheesy. But it's Gene in his near prime and Richard before the freebasing thing. The scene of Gene in black(brown) face is worth the price of rental. and it has Scatman Crothers.

viewtiful_alan 07.20.2009 10:53 PM

Haha! I'll deffinitley look for it next time I have a cupon at blockbuster or something.
As for me, I think I'll be watching Maria Full of Grace, I taped it on IFC

Sonic Youth 37 07.20.2009 10:54 PM

That movie bums me out. Silver Streak has been on FMC and Encore Mystery twice today. I've actually watched it 2 1/2 times.

davenotdead 07.21.2009 01:36 AM

watched Synecdoche for the 2nd time. [1st time was in a theatre]

liked it better this time. got some closure. i think i'll watch it again next year.

9/10

Its goodness cannot be denied.. but I couldn't get over the fact that it seemed a bit like obligatory indie foreign film that hipsters fawn over, and feel more 'gloabl' or special for watching.
Other than that ickiness it was a good movie.

demonrail666 07.21.2009 02:01 AM

I'm totally in the mood to watch Silver Streak. Great movie. My favourite Wilder/Pryor team up.

Imo, really strong performances (Hawke + Ruffalo) for a not really surprising movie, well shot but nothing "special" plotwise. Pretty good overall.

have no idea about what they were sayin', but I had fun hahaha!

Toshio Matsumoto is one of my all time favorite filmmakers. So, that's really weird, because the latest short I just did has me doing line drawings of the opening scene from "Phantom"!:

Indeed.

Let's us not forget him as Jim, though. :-)

Pretty fucking funny.

I love how Rorschach is played by the love-child of Steve Nash and Danny Bonaduce.
