Check on good shape, check on easy to fix and get parts, check on paid cash (even got a good deal on the registration), and fuck that credit shit I'm like a Muslim about debt, that shit is a mortal sin!!

While I haven't owned a car in eleven years, I'm not entirely stupid to the process, I went down all the same checklist you did, and am hoping this works out. I also don't want to join the "$500 a month fixing my used car" plan either cuz to be honest I HATE cars yo

the only problem with this, is the dreams.

You seem to be haunted by dreams too.. Not those kind of traumatic nightmare kind of haunting, but more so those REAL dreams that just sting in the morning. Those self-reflective, deep fantasy, or reliving moments of regret kind of dreams. I have them all the time, they used to really crush me sometimes, still do get to me occasionally, but I'm learning to almost embrace them instead of resist. If my spirit and/or subconscious needs to vent, so be it.

you mean those dreams you feel in yr gut about unrequited love and yr dead mother? the after when yr in the shower early in the morn you cry?

yep. have those all the time.

For anyone interested in the mind and symbols shared in dreams. Carl Jung, Man & His Symbols, chapter: The Function of Dreams
http://peyser.sewanee.edu/Sites/276%...%20dreams&.pdf

20 pages or so of wisdom.

congrats & props for that. reason i mentioned is that our friend joaquín is leasing a german car… which means after 3 (?)years of payments and expensive repairs he'll have to pay more and will own nothing.

and i'm not saying this to shit on him either, but hoping to reach anyone's ears, because people get suckered in all the time...

i know someone who just got TALKED INTO buying a new car they didn't need… $500/mo for years to come, and the moment you drive out of the lot you lose 30% of the value of your purchase but you're still in hock for the full price… and then all kinds of stuff.

it's never worth it getting into debt for a depreciating item.

i like cars but i hate LA traffic. THE WORST.

EVOLghost 07.25.2014 04:50 PM

What repairs? Warranties mofo....except me being a dimbass an wrecking this shit. But yeah...I wish I would've bought a used car....

but warranties are worked into the price, and shit always happens that's not a manufacturer defect. e.g,, a goat jumps on your hood (happened to me haa haaa). and when that happens, german parts and german mechanics are expensive.

then when you turn in the car after the lease is over they charge you for extra miles, for dings and scratches, for all manner of shit , the fuckers, and the salesman smiles are gone from their faces.

depreciation runs faster & deeper in the first couple of years, so if you can get a solid 2 or 3 year old car you can easily drive it for a decade (or more) and the yearly cost turns out quite low-- or if you wanna replace it more often, the resale/trade in value is pretty good vs your purchase price.

i'd like to buy and old jeep and fix it up. something army-like.

FUCK I hate those.. Its like, in your real life you totally know why those relationships failed, indeed the very fact they failed is evidence enough as to why you moved on. But in your dream life your dream self doesn't remember all that rational shit, it just remembers the raw love. Funny thing about true love, like cigarette addiction it never goes away. Maybe it subsides. Maybe you even get used to not having it. However, it never goes away. It is a dull ache and deep craving that is always there, ever constant, ever gnawing at the back of your mind..

Then there are those dreams about family you've lost, or friends that aren't around anymore, or jobs you almost had, or bands you were in.. fuck. I need a beer!
