Who, me? I like certain jeans because they fit nice and are comfy. Trust me. No one one ever mistake me for a metrosexual in real life. I am a fucking slob and a half.

Are their clothes made in USA?

Aéropostale is another lower-cost brand making headway. It started as a proprietary line in Macy's stores.

i'm pretty sure so.

aéropostale had "sunday" playing when i walked in once. they have some cute things, but otherwise they're kind of boring. their jeans don't fit me very well.

jon boy 02.11.2007 12:13 PM

when buyimng jeans i dont like the bootcut ones and avouid at all costs ones with fashionand tears in them. i swear it was easier to get better jeans when i was a kid.

etc

val-holla-ing 02.11.2007 04:13 PM

i only have 1 pair of decent fitting jeans right now. they're a pair of skinny jeans from the gap.

atari 2600 02.11.2007 04:24 PM

The only things I ever have gotten from The Gap are colored pocket T-shirts.

So, My favorite jeans are Donna Karan City Jeans and Levi Strauss boot cut jeans.
And I'm real sorry to get Lethrneck4's hopes up too haha.

Those Arizona Jeans from JC Penney are rugged like American Eagles or Levi's. They look like hell when you first buy them, but I have a pair of black ones (medium grey now) that have lasted forever. I should dye those black again sometime.

When I was a kid, my parents dressed me in only Levi's, Lee, or Wrangler. By the time high school came around in the '80s, the designer jeans thing was the big craze, so I had Jordache, Sergio Valente, Polo, Calvin Klein, etc. It was all straight-leg shit too, with the crotch and seat cut extremely tight, even on boy's jeans.

I forget when it was, but I thnk it was the late '80s-early '90s-ish that saw the thankfully short-lived (for most people) acid-washed and stonewashed fads.

Then, the jeans got bigger per West coast trends (skater/hip-hop) and brands like Hilfiger, Mecca and JNCO became (& still are) the cool thing. Nautilus has started making their jeans like these.

Now, the trend is for jeans that are severely broken-in and aged beforehand. And the latest trend is for the shiny knees hehe. The current DKNY line sort of embraces this, but doesn't go nutso with it. The stitching is patterned after Levi's (with a 5-pocket design), even more than most other brands. And damn, they are really comfortable. If you're like me, and haven't bought any new pairs of jeans in awhile, do yourself a favor and get some of these.

val-holla-ing 02.11.2007 04:49 PM

how much did those DKNY jeans go for?

atari 2600 02.11.2007 04:52 PM

They are around seventy bucks a pair I think; I got two pair at T.J. Maxx for $29 each about a month ago though. One has a part on it that looks like a razor blade cut into it and the other had some threads that were loose in a couple of spots. Minor imperfections, as these are, after all, jeans.

Oh, I just looked them up...they are actually called "City-Fit" Jeans. It's been awhile since I threw the tags away. I also found some on the net for fifty each. http://www.dillards.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=301&langId=-1&storeId=301&productId=500753471&N=1107771+201080 4&searchUrl=%2Fendeca%2FEndecaStartServlet%3FN%3D1 107771%2B2010804&R=MJ-041
You can't tell much about the real texture of these from this picture, (even usuing the zoom) unfortunately.

And this site only offers a regular "indigo" color. These come in lots of color variations, which is why I was enticed to buy two pairs. One concern about buying clothing on the internet, is getting the right size. These days, it's as if each maunfacturer invents their own sizing, so use caution.

If you have a local T.J. Maxx outlet, I would just go there and see what they have left. I went after Christmas, when the prices were rock bottom. I mean, if you go looking for a new pair of jeans, you're going to pay a little more or a little less than twenty no matter where you go, so why not pay an extra ten for some nice ones?

Norma J 02.11.2007 05:46 PM

Straight leg jeans are the way to go. Tighter too, if possible.

king_buzzo 02.11.2007 05:52 PM

i buy longer jeans because lengh 36 is too short and 38 is too long, so i buy the 38.

Well, then, Donna has a pair for you as well called her "Brooklyn" line. Haha

The thing is, like many of you here I suspect, I have disdain for buying clothes and shopping, in general. I was dragged into a T.J. Maxx by my girlfriend and she said I needed new jeans. And so I bought some. The point is, I wouldn't be writing about this unless I was extremely satisfied with the purchase. Despite all that I've written, I can't tell you just how happy I am with the pants. I am (obviously) crazy about these jeans, but maybe just crazy haha you don't know me hehee.

In other consumer reports-related news, I just got some Heineken Light for the first time. Hmmm, why did I buy watered-down Heineken? I wanted to see if it tasted more like Becks (that other green bottle German lager), I think. Heineken itself tastes like a spicier version of Becks with more of a bite, but it also tastes like a flat Becks, if that makes any sense. Well, I suppose I won't be able to discern the difference after I have a couple more.

EMMAh 02.11.2007 06:05 PM

These are my pants, I sew their legs straight but not so they look all scene. I was wearing skinny jeans before all them anyway.

Sorry for the size.

Norma J 02.11.2007 06:22 PM

I don't care whether I look look scene or not anymore. I used to get the shits if I saw people wearing the same clothes as me, now too many do to care. I'm not going to stop wearing cardigans etc just because it's now cool to shop at op-shops (thrift I think they call it in the states?). If I like what I wear I'll wear it whether others do or not.

These motherfuckers will feel like a pair you've owned for five years the very first time you wash them and put them on.
