sy fans arent that distinguished as of other bands and/or of other periods in time, where music and specific fashion went along. or are WE??? ... anyhoo, fan base name game is fun. |
We were a pivotal part of the no wave scene and part of the foundation of the mainstreaming of "alternative", "grunge", and "indie" as one of the first underground bands from these scenes to sign to a major label. However it seems clear that Nirvana usurped Sonic Youth's mainstream potential.

Just listened again excellent acoustic version of Leeīs Home Chds. SY is really not dead to me, it lives in these great solo works! But as important SY is to me, I donīt need to be called in any name as a SY fan, I think itīs more for the youngsters.
