I don't care for Sunn O))), but Dunn produced Marissa Nadler's July (also her upcoming new one, Strangers, by the way) and the results are excellent — not that far away from Beck's work on Demolished Thoughts (dude, give up the bullcrap solo career and focus on producing), a bit darker. |

He's also produced most or all of Earth's post-hiatus material, which I have made no secret of my affection for. |

Thibault: About the experimental aspect of your music, I read that you don't take drug because you need a balance between your personal life - supposedly healthy - and the music you create - a little bit less conventional. This is Hermann Hesse philosophy as well, in Steppenwolf. All of that is quite far from the cliché of a rockstar... And this is outside common standards...
Thurston: Drugs seem like a good idea....maybe when I'm older. I like the idea of opium. Eva makes the most delicious absinthe lemonade in the summer. It's a secret recipe. It feels like heaven. |

By the way, the other day I was looking for a Thurston pic to accompany a Dimeadozen link and as I typed his name on Google I got the following suggestion: "thurston moore eva PERON". Seriously. |
"I like the idea of opium"???
Well, yeah. In THEORY full body euphoria is great. In practice, it's .... ah... one of the single most destructive forces in the history of the world? Is that fair to say? But yeah, I mean... I like "the idea" of it too. Not to mention the "idea" of ecstasy, cocaine, speedballin', and everything else that makes your brain feel amazing. Unfortunately there's quite a bit more to it than just the "idea." Like, I don't know... the reality. What a weird thing to say. |

I think you're joking, but I want to respectfully disagree anyway. |

I guess so  It looks weird that there's still no info about it, if it should be out in April, so I guess it will be postponed again. The reason why I'm pushing this topic is that I'm really curious about what Paul Epworth did with it. |
