glice it is time consuming ripping your collection onto your hard drive before putting onto pod, i don't have my whole collection on my but it is very easy to take stuff off and put some on, it is very handy having a couple of hundred albums in a small machine, i use mine for work a great deal for house music when audiences are arriving etc, so i have all of my jazz all of my classical, plus all the stuff i listen to a shit load and some stuff i listen to occasionally, they are worth the money i would not be to concerned about fitting your whole collection on the thing though.

Fair enough indeed. I'm actually considering getting one because my tape collection is not getting listened to lately. I've got about 300 90-minute tapes which I'm considering converting, mainly because tapes are getting less and less viable for me.

Termianl Pharmacy-I had assumed he had ripped his CD's to his CPU already. But if not then it will take a couple of days to rip them all. But if they are already on the CPU then shouldn't take more than 45 minutes to put them all on an ipod.

I don't see the point of putting them on my computer when my computer is in the same room as my stereo, which naturally has infinitely better speakers.

terminal pharmacy 04.24.2006 06:53 PM

you need to, to be able to put them on an ipod or iriver or what ever

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 04.24.2006 06:56 PM

every few days i change the material on mine because at most i can get 9 hours of music, thats after sacreficing quality.

val-holla-ing 04.24.2006 06:59 PM

i have a 4g 40 gig iPod, but it's filled up and i only use it when i don't feel like playing a record or cd. i'm waiting for apple to release the 80 gig or *gasp* 100 gig iPod before i buy another.

i don't really care for the idea of playing video on the thing, though. i just like having a bajillion tons of music available to listen to at any time.

Rocekt123 04.24.2006 08:48 PM

I have a Nano

Laila 04.24.2006 08:49 PM

does the nano suck as much as i think it does?

Rocekt123 04.24.2006 08:50 PM

I think it is alright mine only holds 500 songs but it is compact and very easy to use

Laila 04.24.2006 08:53 PM

i don't like the nano! my brother has one and i think it's way too small. i feel like i'm gonna break it. and it only holds 500 songs yet it was more than the ipod mini which looks better and holds double the songs. but if you like it then it's okay.

Rocekt123 04.24.2006 08:56 PM

My parents went to China and I said to them to get me an ipod, that is what they got me so that is why i have it, i would have prefered a bigger one as i have heaps more cds to that did not fit, i am thinking of buying a bigger one.

the back light and videos will decrease your battery life very quickly you will get nearly the full 14hours with just music and remember to extend the battery life you need to flatten it once per month

what does it mean to flatten a battery??? (sorry I'm no native speaker)

terminal pharmacy 04.25.2006 03:10 AM

_slavo_ first where are you from?

the battery supllies the electricity so the player can have power to run the ipod so using video and audio at the same time drains the power quicker because it needs more electricity to process the information, certain batterys nedd to disharge fully on a monthly type basis so they charge to their full capacity better and extend the life, and the ipod batteries are of this kind
