Me and friends play noise music in art all the time to piss off the other students who listen to indie and rave. |

I once came up to my room and noticed papapa was showing my grandma my vinyl. I had forgotten to hide Songs About Fucking D: They didn't say anything though. |

When I was 15 I was riding in the car with my dad and I put on 'In God We Trust Inc' in the tape deck.. We got to 'Kepone Factory' and when Jello said 'Now I have these splitting headaches!!' my dad turned it off and said 'I can't imagine why!'

A nice idea, but not so. Rock 'n' roll wasn't 'invented' at all, it was a name put to a type of music that developed over a period of time. And that's also the case for teenagers: rather than being 'invented', the concept of the teenager developed over (at least) a number of decades. |

Cool! Where'd you see Crank Sturgeon at? He stayed in my house and played on my radio show here in Portland. Such a nice guy. My dad probably wouldn't get too into CS's music, but I'd be happy to have him and my dad over for dinner together. |
I don't know about any of this. I'm not a music critic and I'm really learned in music, but I know what I like. Noise isn't my favorite genre by a long shot, but it's very interesting in theory and I like to see how people come up with new ways to make noise e.g. fashioning new instruments, edgar winter supercomputer shit..
To me, most of it (not all) sounds exactly the same and I wouldn't listen to it for as long as many here would. To me it's just a composistional part thats come into place in rock music now that's as commonplace and distorted guitars and leather jackets. I wouldn't listen to distorted guitars all day. Nor would I always wear a leather jacket. Because they're all just part of a big.. rock... quilt, I guess. Infantile? No, people take this seriously and people do put thought into it. It's more about theory to me than anything else. But hey, prove me wrong, I'll be the first to admit I have no idea what I am talking about. |
Fat Worm of Error.

who really gives a shit. youth always rebelled against the older generations. jerry lee lewis for example........ im 32 yrs old and married with 2 kids, i just purchased another merzbow record. my dad is 61 and listens to cliff richard....... so what, imagine if kids listened to their parents music all the time, i mean every kid.......... what a dull and boring place it would be. my eldest is 6 years old next week and i would love her to have an individual taste in music rathr than listeniong to sexist, black eyed peas because dirty pop is acceptable by mass media...
do any of you know that feeling when a 5 year old girl sits in the backseat of a car singing "my humps, my lovely lady humps....." and cant understand why you tell her off? its fucking horrible!!!!!! i certainly would gladly let her invade my japnoise collection whenever she wanted.... music designed for kids..... razorlight, the feeling, arctic monkeys (even if i think they are a relly good band and have talent), babyfuckinglibertinekatesgorgeoustrilbywearingsmac kaddictshambles, orson, etc etc... all pseudo-rebbelious but still peppered with the charm which makes em palatable to parents to allow their kids to listen to em...... ALL KIDS, GO FORTH AND THRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
