The thing is that the food itself doesn't have to look bad to give you food poison. It can look fine and normal but it could still hide death in its ingredients.

I had a Chinese takeaway a few weeks ago that I'm pretty sure was the cause of an unpleasant 6am carpet puking and a day or so of nausea and malaise.

I ate some two week old thai takeout a couple of days ago and was fine.

Stomach o' steel.

I ate too much once.
I also had some chinese crab food and that wasn't too good, but never sick from food.

a few years ago, i ate some bad boudin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boudin) and threw up for 24 hours straight.

a few months ago i had some cheese pizza that had been sitting in meaty grease for a while and after not having eaten meat for 1 1/2 years, i upchucked for the entire day...again.

yeah, it surely is an egg. an uncooked egg.
