Will you be there?

I'll most likely be in the Hague on Saturday. Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat plays on Friday and Silvester Anfang on Saturday.

This week putting everything together - color correction and soundmastering and we should be ready. Oh and subtitles in English and dutch would be awesome! Trailer hopefully this week as well.

Can't wait to go!!!

hmm you're coming to statex?

yeah that's why I would be in The Hague on Saturday ;)

pokkeherrie 11.06.2007 11:58 AM

that's awesome. congratulations, jeff!

sadly i'll probably miss it though, as i'm pretty sure i'm not going to state x new forms this year. this edition is twice as expensive as 2006, while last year's line-up was about 10 times better, for my tastes at least. i'd really like to see silvester anfang again though, because i really liked them when i saw them last january and i recently missed them at sonic city due to my train being delayed. but they'll be playing holland plenty of times again i'm sure.

heh, find a way to get your film at the rotterdam film festival! :D

That's the plan Pokkeherrie - and there is a way :D
There's a small chance I can screen there, but that's for way later!

pokkeherrie 11.09.2007 09:28 AM

cool. hope you'll succeed. :)
the film festival promises to be pretty interesting from the little that's been announced so far. keiji haino and melvins will be playing live soundtracks for one.

Jef Mertens 11.11.2007 07:46 AM

ok, so the film is finally finished! Sending out the first preview tapes tomorrow awaiting first reactions. In the meanwhile there's a short interview I did about Dronevolk online at URBANMAG

IK BEN ALTIJD EEN OBSERVEERDER GEWEEST ( it's in Dutch )

A trailer should be finished this week - put it online when it does.

nicfit 11.15.2007 07:21 AM

looks niiiiiiiiiiice.
What's the song in the background? reminds me of the ending of sy's halloween
, which is a good thing actually.
Oh, will the non-english parts be subtitled? Dunno if someone else already asked...

Tokolosh 11.15.2007 07:53 AM

The song in the background is from Ignatz, one of the featured artists. Subtitled trailers are a coming!

Just sad I can't upload a decent quality trailer: youtube sucks at quality while myspace fucks up the trailer after upload - It drops a second or so.
The original quality of the trailer is way different.

I just missed the deadline for the SXSW film festival. Plus there was a 35 dollar submission fee.

SynthethicalY 11.17.2007 04:05 AM

I see, hopefully you can get it released as a dvd.

Yeah I hope so too. Mabey something for 2008.
But I'm really gonna try and get it screened in the States as well. Shouldn't be that hard. I'm setting up a website hopefully soon to promote it and where people can apply for screenings of the film.

nicfit 11.17.2007 05:21 AM

Hey jef, glad you took into considerations the stage6 option.
Many people "understimate" it coz youtube is fashionable and stuff, but I think the better solution for a filmmaker to have his things "viewed" and appreciated would be post a "youtube quality" (obviously) thing on youtube and add his stage6 channel's name (can't remember if you can put links in the infos) "if you want to see/download a better version"... etc, etc.

Oh, don't mean to "teach" you how to deal with vids ( I bet you know thousands times what i know about this kind of stuff) but still I wanted to point out that, if you want, you could up a much better version (resolution-wise) of the trailer on stage6. It says it's a 352 x 192 vid...dunno if that's what you was going for, but I felt prick enough to point this out ha ha.
Fogive the grammatically awful rambling and keep up the good work.

king_buzzo 11.17.2007 05:33 AM

looks awesome!

Gulasch Noir 11.17.2007 05:44 AM
