good luck getting back to normal life.

Oh man.
I am really sorry you had such a long and protracted ordeal thrust upon you like this. |

holy fuckamoly, man. I had not seen this. CRAZY! best of luck. |
Don't worry, Bush and FEMA will rush in to save the day, once everything is ruined and their butt buddies in texas can come in and make a killing.

that is seriously fucked up. lucky for you, there's no scarcity of blankets. do you have an insurance broker to call? his/her phone is probably ringing like mad, but anyway... you wanna free copy of arthur magazine to entertain yourself with while paris burns? i mean OK city-- pm me your (current) mailing address and i'll send it your way. |
I'm glad you're okay, man. I've been worried about you, since I've heard that the OKC has been completely fucked. I'm glad I live south of the Red River (even if it's only a couple of miles).

keep it cool, mr. robot.
no, scratch that. keep it warm. |

not so much. we had no idea it would be like this. hell, I had my friend up from Dallas for the Dinosaur Jr show and didn't even bother telling him it MIGHT ice (they are so often wrong or overexagerative). he now has some sort of "disaster survival cred" with the people who knew he was here. the electric company has STILL not removed my downed line so I can start fixing the rest and that really fucks me off. I heard a guy on a cell phone yesterday talking about how his power is back on because he just "grabbed an OG&E (electric co.) guy" and they fixed him up. it made me SO pissed off because I can't get something taken care of that might burn down my shit. to top it off, I have to fix my shower that broke on saturday so that I can drip the hot water line. it's going to snow 6" here tonite and get down to 18 degrees, so I'm worried my pipes might bust. I'm tired, sore from sleeping in somone else's bed and stressed about doing all of this AND being ready for my father-in-law's wedding today. XENU GRANT ME STRENGTH!! PS: thanks to all for yr kind words. |
haha update.
things are looking up? got electrician out. meter is back on the house. all trees have been removed (600 dollars later). thewife is fixing the faucet right now and scheduled a work order to have the cable reattached to the house. now we wait for the fucking electric company..... |
Glad to hear everything is alright, and you guys keep safe.

A MONTH?!!?!?!?! FUCKING AWFUL. the man heard rumors that we might have power this weekend. i asked a magic 8 ball earlier today and it said yes. |
The Ouija board is more accurate.

I hope you get the power.

we lucked out again. the electrician didn't have the right weatherhead and he spent most of the day looking for one. some guy sold him the part off his truck. he told me that the type I need is like gold these days. I'm all hooked back up right now, my hot water spout is fixed (different issue) and the cable company will be out to fix the line (sometime). I was also able to get ahold of the lady next door so that she can file a claim (it was her tree). the better part of today was spent cutting branches away from my line and scraping ice off the garage. it's the first day I actually feel like stuff is happening. but ugh....I have to be at a wedding in an hour. time for a shower. it's been a fucking week, but it's back on. also thank you to "tesco" whoever you are. |
