where i come from if people tried to fight then they'd just get frozen by peace and then the whole village would stop by and poke them with recorders made from reindeer antlers and giggle with bright green exclamations of mirthful meanderings.

then a giant cardboard box with shimmering smiley faces on it would be pulled out by licorice ropes and placed at rest before the combatants. it would sit there for maybe twelve or nineteen minutes and about five hours and a day before the sides of the box would fall outward and then, woe, then the show really began.

i'll only fight someone if they've done something really terrible to deserve it. i knocked two of my best friend's ex-boyfriend's teeth out because he was an asshole and hit her with a chair and threw a big ass fan at her and it hit her.

ONe of my favorite fights was at UNH and I was sitting in Williamson dorm at a friend's party and he had been feeding me straight vodka so I'm sitting there feeling darned fine and then these 2 guys start fighting in the room and they are right in front of me and it is quite amusing to watch and they are slugging each other and though its fairly harmless everyone but me is freaking out trying to stop them and it goes on afor several minutes and I'm very amused watching them, and then they knocked into my chair and spilled my drink so I jumped up, grabbed them both by the back of the neck, threw them out into the hall, then sat back down and continued my drinking. Everyone just stood there looking at me.

I'm not sure what a smirf is, but if you meant smurf then you'd be on the right track. With still a ways to go but the right track.

The thing is, the entire concept of the smurfs was based off the real, and not so plesant biography of my great (and generationally removed, older) uncle DansDorf (nickname).
He was an alcoholic that took train tours through germany, france, belgium, and a few other places, basically just perpetually trying to find out about life and what he was supposed to do.
Peyo (the creator of the smurfs) met him on one of these trips and pretended to befriend him, but it turns out he was really just interested in observing his bizarre antics for his own creative gain.
There is more to this, but I'm not sure airing it out here would be apropriate.

So in any case, yeah, maybe I have a little smurf in me, maybe I wouldn't mind living in a smurf village for a summer and helping them out and maybe if I had been around back in the Black Forest and such in those days maybe we could have had a full length smurf feature in which everyone got together and actually helped Gargamel (Dans) get some help / rehab whatever.

besides, getting frozen by peace ain't so bad.
