Dave Lombardo.......sike, I don't know.

I can't answer this. There is only one choice, and it's way too obvious. It's the only choice, and any rockandroll fan who chooses otherwise is simply lying to himself.

Norma J 02.26.2008 09:43 PM

He's got a thing for Mr Richards.

I second Omar. If only I could move like that and play guitar at the same time.

Other's would of course be Thurston and Lee. Also, Jonny Greenwood, Dick Dale, or Kevin Shields.

Woodie Guthrie- didn't have an easy life, but traveled all over and lived that lifestyle that hobos lament and drunks fantasize about.

Dead-Air 02.27.2008 03:00 AM

C'mon, who wouldn't want to be Thurston? Then I'd have opened for Sun Ra in Central Park, played with everyone from Branca to Richard Hell, smoked dope with Mike Watt, and fucked Kim Gordon repeatedly for several decades.

Not to mention the record collection...

✌➬ 02.27.2008 03:13 AM

Kurt Cobain?

ZEROpumpkins 02.27.2008 03:24 AM

Richard D James!

sonicl 02.27.2008 03:46 AM

Robert Wyatt. For his sake, not mine.

ZEROpumpkins 02.27.2008 03:48 AM

Hahahaha

andrei 02.27.2008 05:14 AM

The question is what muscian would want to trade their life with mine!?! :D

Torn Curtain 02.27.2008 07:42 AM

No one. I don't romanticise great musicians' lives, or rather I no longer do. I mean most of them go through a lot of personal crap.

Spot on.

You must spread some Reputation around blah blah...

sarramkrop 02.27.2008 08:17 AM

The calm of La Monte Young and the madness of Angus Maclise would be cool.

I have thought about this a LOT. If I could trade my life for any musician ever, I would trade with

RINGO STARR

He was hoping to work in a haberdashery, and instead joined up with the beatles in hamburg germany, proceeded to record some of the most influential rock music ever, was lucky enough to be friends with John Lennon, George Harrison, and Paul McCarteny when he did not suck ass, has been happily married for a long time, has met and befriended all the great music idols of the last 50 years, has played with many great people, has lived long enough to outlive John and George (sadly) and actually passed up Paul mcCartney as the COOLEST LIVING BEATLE
and still has a great sense of humor, the exact same sense of humor he had when he joined the beatles and booted out pete best.
He will probably outlive Paul mccartney, even though he was the elder beatle.
he has never been involved in any ridiculously stupid drugs or sex scandal that I know of.

It would rule all to be Ringo Starkey

If you do get the opportunity, make sure not to record "Liverpool, I left you"

jimbrim 02.27.2008 11:54 AM

Stephen Pastel, he's cool.
