Mmmmmm, yes.

I like to observe people too. It's a good way to suss out this thing we call society.

Usually if I'm in the city, I'll spend about half an hour just sitting around and taking in the scene. (And then I move on - hey I got stuff to do as well).

So last week I was at Flinders St. Station (In Melbourne AUS for those of you paying attention) just hanging around. It was a really hot day and there were all these sexy girls walking past (and a few sexy boys too - but they didn't quite do it for me).

Suddenly this girl struts by wearing a short skirt which showed off her pair of leg tattoos. She had a straight line running up the back of both legs (like the seam of a stocking) with a bow at the top.

I really should have pushed those nuns out of the way - then I could've caught up with the tattoo girl....

sorry if i asked the question poorly, i just didnt know how to ask it

I'll never forget getting a diarrhea attack in Flinders St. station. It was a bit like that toilet scene in Trainspotting.

I'm no psychopath! I'm very passive.

Right now I'm looking after Spaghetti and Archie (they're cats) for a couple of friends while they do their easter holiday.

Spaghetti is currently sleeping on my lap which makes operating my laptop kinda hard. I'd ask Spaghetti to move - but he looks so comfortable.

That's how passive I am.

AND I REALLY NEED TO GO PEE!

actor or playwright.
at drama school you are made to sit in cafés for hours observing people's body language, listening to ther conversation etc.

the playwright joe orton had notebooks and notebooks filled with snippets of overheard conversation which gave him ideas for lines for characters, and even plays.

Interesting thread Alien Anal, I'm glad I clicked it. I've read books on interpersonal behaviour and I often sit at bars and observe people for the sake of observing them. After a while you realize patterns in people's non-verbal behaviour, and it's beneficial if you're looking to talk to somebody who looks interesting and appears that they need to talk to someone.

I became interested in this field when a man was doing exactly that at a bar, but he noticed how bored and dissapointed I was (a girl I was dating didn't show up and went to a party instead) and he approached me and talked to me about studying people's behaviour

I really wanted to say hello and find out more about her and those tattoos. So I was trying to decide, "Should I" or "Shouldn't I".

Meanwhile, she had made her way out of the station and was heading down busy Swanston St. I tried to catch up, but there were so many people hanging around the city that day and I lost her after a couple of blocks.

I saw her again later in the day giving directions to some exchange student, but the moment had passed and I was too wussy to talk to her.

So I could never be a detective. It's not just about the observing, you have to be quick on your feet too.

I really should have pushed those nuns out of the way - then I could've caught up with the tattoo girl....

were they just bellow her knees and pink bows? there is a girl who frequents the mall I work at who has this tat. I always want to tell her it looks cute but then I figure everyone probably does the same thing and I'd hate it if people constantly did that to me.

you are new, stats? you're in melbourne. this is good.

When Trouble is sleeping on me and I have to pee, I wait until it's near leaking out of me before I get up. And I still feel bad once I do. Right now he is sleeping on my bed but I'm sitting Indian-style so I don't have to worry about it.

Soooooooo - looks like not everyone's a fan. I might have to run home and cry on mommee's shoulder.

Sorry Phoenix, my tattoo girl had the stocking tatts running all the way up her leg.

I kinda freaked out after posting that whole anecdote. What if this girl actually hangs around this forum? (She looked like she could be into Sonic Youth). What if she tracked me down and kicked me upside the head with her tattooed leg for (ahem) 'observing' her?

Ah fuck it - I worry too much.
