Most of the Wire tappers are worth a dabble. As Mr & Bowels says, can't go wrong with the Trojan boxsets. I have a fair few of this series:
 
which are pretty indispensible if you're me.

 


This is awesome.

 


The bonkers compilations have a certain nostalgia value for me. If you like that sort of thing, you'll love any of them. If you don't - a) you're dead to me and b) they won't change your mind.

My all time favourite compilation is a British jazz record from the 40s called 'Homemade Jam vol 2'. No picture. If anyone sees volume 1 I will pay you for it. If you see vol 2, treat yourself, you're worth it.

The Flying Nun label has a lot of good compilations, but the 25th anniversary box set is amazing.
