The cone adapter works best in that case...

most 45's made in the USA have small spindle holes. the large spindle holes are for the jukeboxes man!!!!! |

sometimes there is no space for a lead in track. pavement's rattled By The Rush single is like that. sometimes the needle just pops out of there |

It is a pain having to deal w/ those adaptors. I have a record clamp, so it's doule the process for me. I have to lay the 7" in the adaptor, remove the adaptor, then clamp w/ a Rek-O-Kut disc clamp. Quote:
Or how about lead out tracks that have continuos loops. I know Double Nickles On The Dime had them. |
Hey, yeah, you're right. I think it's era-related, too, though. The older 45s, like my Sub Pop, have the big holes. But anything after around 95 is the small spindle.

I use these bad boys. when I rock 6 at a time.

all my PJ Harvey 7" singles (which is ALL OF THEM! my Pj harvey collection rules on vinyl) have cum all over them
ha ha ha! no they don;t, but it's right here in my hand there it is!!!!! |
you guys bitch a lot.
i have missed once putting the needle on a record, and i was like 11 years old then. it's not so difficult if you have eyes and an average steady pulse. the large holes on the 7"s, i have a big block adapter that i used on my mom's old turntable and the one i have now, which is a regal piece of shit, has a rising block for the big hole singles. i don't think it's hard to get the little plastic disc adapters on the internet. and i have big hole 7"s, made in 2000-something no less. people try not to manufacture them anymore but they are still around. |

I have one of these as well, but for easy removable purposes (reason Y stated above) I use this... ![]() It's obviously underneath the level. |
shit that's fucking sweet

british singles zstill are made mostly with the large hole, for jukeboxes. I want a 7" jukebox so bad so I can put all my singles on it and rock out and earn money with my friend's quarters |

ohhh, that sounds so awesome!!! i might have like 30 7"s, wouldn't justify the expenses of buying a jukebox though. |

somehow, without me noticing, my 7" single collection has expanded to three 16 inch long boxes. |
I just got a case to fit my newly aquired 45's. Tupper ware does the trick for now...
|
Gotta love those 33 inch records...

doesn't help that I drink about 52 ounces of beer a night plus hit some great mid grade... |

Huh? I always thought that was the other way around - that jukebox-hole 7s were generally American. I'd say that at least 90% of my UK-pressed 7s have a small centre hole, though older (60s/early 70s) UK 45s typically have a push-out centre. |
Yeah Greensleeve's out of London does small hole I dig that a hole lot more. Fuck I'm still high of the fact that I did my radio show today with one working turntable...
|
i like 7"s, it's a shame they're so expensive nowadays though
