i have to deal with a woman at work who clearly has a problem with me and is generally unpleasant everytime i talk to her which is really bad because i have to work with her a lot. anyway today she tried to humiliate me infront of my boss by saying i had made a lot of very serious mistakes on some very important work when i pointed out that she was the one showing me how to do it anyway, she was the one who had to check it and also that she took all her days off right in the middle of the busiest time without letting anyone know and leaving someone with little experience in charge of a very mportant job. i did this with a smile on my face and she just could not bare it and walked out.

1 - because no one has the right to grab you like that.
2 - Cuz she hates her job
3 - the people she works with are pricks

Wouldn't you need witnesses to verify what happened? Do you have any and, more importantly, will they stand up and be counted?

I think you need to think about getting another job, unfortunately.

rita: (super rude voice) SORRY! what do you want me to do? write you a letter of apology?

me: well no... i just wanted to point out it was highly inappropriate. i'm your employee.

rita: if i had my car today, i'd leave and never come back! i'll let everyone else run this place!

me: none of this other stuff has anything to do with me. i just felt the need to stand up for myself.

and then i walked out.

You're way more level-headed than I would have been.

You've done the right thing by telling her you were upset by what happened. Unfortunately, without there being anybody to go to that's above her , it does sound like your options are quite limited. Which makes it a particularly frustrating situation.

I think the only the thing to do is have a shouting rant at her. They're very satisfying.
