i liked thursday for like 6 months back in the end of 2001 and the beginning of 2002. i just lost interest and then months later i saw a video of their live show and that sold me on how much they suck. they are still still better than almost every single band that copied them after they got big.

you remind me of myself like 3-5 years ago when i was just a complete music snob and made fun of anything and everybody that i thought liked shit. i was listening to a lot of shit also at that time. i think i have aged well though.

no ones making fun of anything, i have no problem saying if i think the music you like is shitty, and I hope people do the same for me. I believe most of what I listen to isnt shit, but thats just me

Music is art; it is not behooven of fidelity, truth or some sovereign reality. I'm far too late to be getting into Thursday, and until that link was posted I don't think I've heard a note. I'm going to give it a listen, because some people I know like it.

I'm not impressed by anyone laying into Herr Neurotic; he's got one of the most ridiculously broad tastes and doesn't seem capable of not listening to things (he's not the only one like that round here). He's fond of some stuff that I think is absolutely abysmal, but he also strikes me as being one of the most agenda-less listeners I've ever encountered. You'd do well to take a leaf from his book.

but yeah, i was a snob for a while. but then i found all my records from when i was like 12-13, like slipknot, deftones, etc.., and realized even that shit had some good sounds in there. now ill even go on my sistor's itunes to find whatever good pop is out there these days. theres good and bad shit from all different styles of music. ill listen to justin timberlake just as much as ill listen to whitehouse, depending on the mood. music rules. fuck arguing about preferences in pop culture, like ive said a million times, theres nothing i hate more than people taking personal offence to someone not liking a bad theyre into, or liking a bad theyre not into.
