my summer is kinda like this

I'm just killing time until autumn.

The Ween show was a disappointment, as the mix was horrible, i found myself surrounded by fratwad jocks, and someone close to me was throwing sardines. My summer sucks ballsac.

In all honesty, I don't think I've ever had a good summer in my entire life.

Fall is where it's at.

I've had good summers. The last three have been shit.

Every day is just another sunny day in hell.

Okay, it's not all that bad. We're getting out and doing some stuff. Spending a couple of days in Atlanta to see the Braves and do the town later this month. Also doing some traveling to Florida to see friends, some day trips to Charleston.

Got a great new car (and paid cash), bought a few new shiny clothes and shoes, lost some weight and put on a little muscle, and discovered some new beers (Victory Hop Wallop and Flying Dog Snake IPA).

On the down side, I miss my son, who left in June for the mountains of Colorado, I continually worry about where the work is coming from, and it's too freaking hot and humid here.

Yes, but extremely tired. I spent the night at my friends house, cause I was too drunk to drive. I couldn't sleep there, they started to have sex. Ugh. Going to bed now before work.

My lunch dates this summer have sucked.

For several months I've been meeting a client for lunch downtown. We're sympatico, and he's a fairly regular customer, so it's both a bit of fun and my way of reminding him I need work. But this summer he's been taking me to these terrible places--he chooses because he knows the place better. We've been going to these awful country downhome cooking and BBQ places. Maybe he's trying to tell me something. It's especially bad because I only eat healthy food these days.

Plus today he brings this other guy he knows and so he and I don't talk at all about potential assignments. We go to this baptist church hall where they serve fried chicken, mashed potatoes, turkey in gravy, lemonade, that kind of thing.

I've been trying to get us to meet just over coffee like at Starbucks or something but he won't do that.

I seriously could have been more productive and had more fun just sitting by myself in a coffee house making cold call e-mails on my lap top. Great guy, great client, but I feel like I've been wasting my time and money on this lately. I think no more lunches with clients from now on.

Besides, mashed potatos and gravy in the middle of a 90-degree July day. Blech... I ate steamed vegetables, a roll, and picked at a scrawny chicken wing. I'm sure they thought I was weird.

My summer has been really great so far!

I've been seeing people I haven't seen in about a year, and just completely enjoying myself.

My only complaint is that I haven't done camping yet, but there is plenty of time for that.
