when i was into emo (it was for a short period and i was still going to hardcore shows doing lame things like moshing and circle pitting and xing up my hands) the style was totally different and it wasn't really about fashion, even though a lot of people faked being sad about girls and stars and shit like that (i was never into that). it's funny how how all those scenes were different musically but it wasn't uncommon for a hardcore kid to be at an emo show and the other way around. nowadays you'll never see that. |

I think this has always happened with scenes, but not so quickly. Its the information superhwy perhaps. |

About self-mutilation: Last night I couldn't sleep after seeing Videodrome, it's so hot. I hope I have Cronenberg-style sex soon. Every movie is a turn-on.

no see there was one of these from about 02 with the girl with dark rims and blue jeans and bluebird tats, and the guy in a girls t shirt and black rims and used sneakers w poetry in his bag and stuff. |
I tried to find 'real emo' but I just found a european teen porn site.

i never looked that that guy on the right, but boy oh boy you don't know how many crushes (and girls that i slept with) i had on the girls on the left when i was a teenager. |
I've never understood the appeal of gauged ears or plugs or pipes or whatever they're called all over the world. Piercings, sure, but gauges? C'mon people.
|
thank fucking god for seventeen magazine outlining what emo is :
![]() josh- gauges are a turnoff for me. my friend has rather big ones, and when he takes them out, the hole is big enough to fit the big crayola markers through. |
Yikes. Honestly, at any size they're a turnoff for me. Other piercings are fair game except for eyebrow and tongue of course.
Looking at that picture you posted, I'm a hodge-podge of guy and girl emo, but I am far from the emo/scene thing. Fuck the hipster scene too. |
yeah, same, except for the eyebrow.
the scene kids- the ones into shitty music, not the good music sene- are the worst. too tight pants, too many weird prints on said pants. ugh. the hair! so many reasons to not have kids ever. i'm somewhere in the middle of guy/girl. only i have a secret super girly side of me that gets fused in on occasion. |
For guy I have the shoes and glasses, girl it's the studded belt/bracelet and dark denim.
I cannot for the life of me understand the insane hipster beard. I just don't get it. Why do chicks dig that "I'm homeless looking but I have a bike and an Iphone" look. I just want to punch about 100 guys on this campus every day because they're such hipster douches. |

never realized emo was so codified.

I thought by definition that "deep cuts" could not be the first track on an album.

emo girls looked more like the girl in the cartoon picture. but this is almost a spot on picture of emo guys. aside from the jeans/pants. they were always more tight. also, the keychain would always be put on the loop in the back of the pants not the front. only janitors put them in the front. the emo guy in the cartoon picture looks more like a bro dude who listened to from autumn to ashes and called himself a hardcore kid. |
