Motley Crue did a devastatingly inane version of Helter Skelter with the dulcet tones of Vince Neil, on the shout at the devil record I think.

Actually, it's by Sonic Youth with a Lee vocal. It was on the Sgt. Pepper Knew My Father compilation, which was one of the very first "alernative bands doing tribute versions of classic rock albums" ever, establishing a longstanding tradition of Sonic Youth's to be on as many of them as possible.
