If it was that easy to find the pictures for this thread...the point of the thread is already gone....

Though I appreciate your attempt, in my opinion people just don't want to see or go looking for it.

Well, as opposed to what's on the news and in the papers, she's right. It's not that we can't easily find it; it's that we aren't force-fed it like we are entertainment gossip or "euphemised" war. Reality is often excluded for the squeamish.

DeadDiscoDildo 01.30.2009 05:20 PM

Squeemish is relative.

All those celebrity shows make me want to puke and I can't even watch tv because everywhere you look is reality tv and celeb gossip.

The thing is, does anyone really want to be 'force-fed' anything?

I don't want to be force-fed celebrity shit so I don't watch tv, just like most people who don't want to be force-fed gruesome reality would just shut it off too....

You want to live in a world like clockwork orange where our eyes are forced open and we have to watch this shit all day?

'm just saying, the shock to this, visually, was lost on me when I discovered facesofdeath.com in middle school. It was horrible/surreal then...now it's horrible but it's nothing shocking or new. Just depressing.

No, I partially agree. I just couldn't think of a better phrase than "force-fed." I just meant that stuff like this requires effort to find, whereas celebrity shit is a flick of the switch. I agree stuff should not be force-fed, but the media allows us to pretend that the world's problems consist of Angelina Jolie's love life and a death-ticker. I don't think that's entirely healthy for people or for the world.

DeadDiscoDildo 01.30.2009 05:39 PM

It's really not hard to find this stuff, just because celebrity gossip is easier to find. So what? Infact....the real problem will be explained in a thread of my own, inspired from this very thread.
