OK, so I just watched the youtube action on this.

+ several thousand points for a totally unexpected direction. I was truly surprised. He seemed like he was having a great time, and so was the audience.

- several million points for slap/pull 6-string bass action. That is the bass equivalent of Vai and Satriani flash annoyance. That style makes my teeth hurt.

I've reached three minutes, and it's getting monotonous, just an endlessly repeated bass riff. Jandek is barely audble.

Jandek gettin' his thang on there at the end. Wonder who that is.

When I saw Jandek play, I had to walk out. It was fucking awful. Which is part of the point. I quite like that he's found a new angle on 'the world's most annoying music'. Confounding expectations. But that sort of funk...hurts me.

Gotta love that he keeps having more tricks up his sleeve when nobody expects it. This actually doesn't surprise me, but I sure wish I'd been there. The guy is a master musician and performer who's snowed everyone with the "reclusive loony amatuer" image for decades.
