That's cool, but I mean I was searching some blogs for some Erstwhile Records albums recently and every single one of them had their links removed because the guy who runs that label msged them and told them to take down their links. In a way, that's kinda cool that he keeps on top of stuff like that; on the other hand, his label releases music that even a lot of so-called "avant-garde" types might find a bit difficult to listen to, so it seems like he'd want to get the music out there to the right people. I mean, most of the musicians he releases puts out 500 albums a year and tours 24/7, so if there's no way for a person to hear the stuff in the proper way, then ... well, yeah, obviously, arguments can go back and forth over this forever, I'm just saying that I look up the stuff on blogs and there's nothing. Look it up on soulseek and blam, honey.

Blogs are increasingly becoming a bit more reliable, thanks mainly to a few truely excellent ones leading the way (mutant-sounds, experimental etc, forgotten dreams, grown so ugly, killed in cars, etc.). Unfortunately, even those blogs don't usually have the kind of stuff I'm looking for, though they will occasionally turn me onto some new gems with, as you mentioned, descriptions!

The man speaketh the truth. Thanks for the heads up on the blogs, currently downloading 'A Place To Bury Strangers', lets see how far I get with this...

Yeah, this is the problem. Downloaded the album but it's only given me two thirds of it, the other third I can't locate on any blog. Soulseek really does work best for me, alas it does not want to work. Looks like I'm buggered.

Have you tried upgrading or downgrading your slsk? Try taking off the port forwarding or putting it on? Checked any firewall settings?

This Is Not Here 04.08.2009 12:20 PM

I really think I've tried all 3 of these things, but with no luck sadly... My firewall used to ask me whether to allow or block soulseek's access evertime I started it up, it doesn't now. I went into the settings and told it to always 'allow' Soulseek. Still, nothing happens.

That's unusual.

Shoot your computer.

Sonic Youth 37 04.08.2009 12:37 PM

I had that problem for a while with my last computer, but after a few times reinstalling it worked fine. Also, my Soulseek totally dies whenever I try to use it while doing torrents too. Hmmm...

atsonicpark 04.08.2009 10:43 PM

Torrents occasionally crash my computer too. I almost never use 'em. Unless I need to download xavier: renegade angel episodes.
