-- Get your import bin money up: Sonic Youth will release a Japan-only box set version of their new album The Eternal. The Eternal - Sonik Tooth Box will include the new album with two bonus tracks (taken from their Record Store Day split 7"s) and Japanese translations of the lyrics, a live CD taped at Battery Park, the Sonic Death '09 zine, T-shirts by Toga Nejico, and a sticker. And judging from photographic evidence, a stick-figure drawing of a skull with a mohawk will be somehow involved, always a good sign. According to a MySpace blog post, the box will be out June 3 on Hostess, the band's new Japanese label.

Those are the two tracks from the two Record Store Day 7" singles...

I know I'm hoping against hope here but I'm hoping that BEGN orders will receive flac downloads of the Live LP trax. It'd be a nice touch since that Japanese CD is so expensive. And after today's BEGN download, who knows? Maybe it'll happen...

Having a "digital version" of all the live tracks would definitely be a nice addition. Also coz of the different tracklists (LP vs CD). We'll see.

Besides, I'm actually considering buyin that japanese box, uff....I need to sell some stuff in order not to feel guilty...
