In the 90s, if you wore lots of black and were depressed alot, people called you goth and expected you to like NIN, Marilyn Manson, KMFDM, Rammstein, etc.

These days, if you were lots of black and are depressed alot, people call you emo and expect you to like Thursday, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars (emo's answer to Tool), Dashboard Confessional, etc.
