Yeah, there's 2 Sonic Collections for Gamecube. Both pretty necessary. (The Gems Collection if only for Sonic CD!)

ive bought that game in so many forms its not even funny. i have it on my original genesis, an xbox collection disc, xbox live arcade game, and some new xbox 360 sonic collection.

the ending is so ridiculously hard, i only beat metal sonic by pausing and saving it on the xbox version, and restarting my saves when i die.
in other words, cheating.

The Genesis rules. There is a Genesis collection, which has most of its best games, out for the 360, for like $30. That'd probably be a better route. Or, uh, emulate.

If you're going to get an old system, get an SNES. Tetris Attack and Super Metroid alone is worth the price.

Also, Genesis hasn't been hip in like 15 years.

i'd say xbox 360. cheaper and better games. i haven't had any problems with my xbox but then again, i don't really use it that much. the ps3 recently had a price drop to $299 for an 80GB. and they're coming out with the new slim ps3 next month. meh, i'll probably buy it but i don't think i will

i do miss that playstation controller though..

I wouldn't say it's a million times better. The Genesis probably had more great games, overall (Beyond Oasis, Ranger X, Mega Turrican, Gunstar Heroes, Pulseman, Vectorman, Alien Soldier, Landstalker, Phantasy Star IV, Shining Force, Streets of Rage 2-3, Shinobi, etc., etc., etc.). It's just that the SNES had a few of the best games of all time on it.

my son seems to have issues with me giving up his Wii (as well as calling it mine). :(
